NEW YORK CITY — The FBI seized a cellphone and other electronic devices of betting site Polymarket’s CEO Shayne Coplan in a raid on his New York City apartment early Wednesday, according to a source familiar with the matter. The search comes shortly after the company’s markets wagered correctly and controversially in Donald Trump’s favor in bets for who would win the presidential election, despite opinion polls showing a tight race. The source said it’s not clear if Coplan or Polymarket are targets of an investigation. Polymarket, which Coplan founded in 2020, has recently been the subject of intense debate and scrutiny over its creation of election betting markets. The company brought in more than $3.6 billion from bets placed on the presidential election, including $1.5 billion on Trump and $1 billion on Vice President Kamala Harris, according to an NBC News analysis.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams asked a judge on Monday to set an earlier trial date in his federal corruption case next year, arguing the current date would impede Adams’ participation in his mayoral reelection campaign, according to court documents. In a letter to the court, Adams’ lawyer, Alex Spiro, requested the trial to begin weeks earlier on April 1, rather than later that month. He added that the prosecution will “cast a cloud” over Adams’ campaign until it’s resolved by a New York jury at trial. Authorities say Ryan Wesley Routh was lying in wait for former President Donald Trump at the West Palm Beach golf course on Sunday with a semi-automatic rifle. Another business owner who was visited by the FBI believed their business may have had surveillance video of Routh leaving the scene, and that business owner says the FBI copied the file containing the video. A third business said that agents visited them for surveillance video after the shooting. Federal charging documents allege that Routh arrived at the golf course at 1:59 a.m. ET the day he was allegedly spotted with a weapon near the course, based on FBI cell phone analysis.

CNN —Fashion months’ finale — otherwise known as Paris Fashion Week — kicks off on Monday February 26th with over 70 shows and 38 presentations scheduled. From Miu Miu to Mugler, the nine-day calendar is filled to the brim with storied luxury houses, which will no doubt draw a slew of stars into the city. On Thursday, Virgil Abloh’s brand Off—White will return to the runway for the first time since 2022. McGirr, who follows the houses’ tradition of being a Central Saint Martins alumni, previously oversaw ready-to-wear at landmark British brand JW Anderson. From staging runways everywhere from the Louvre to Rio de Janiro’s Niteròi Contemporary Art Museum, there’s no doubt Ghesquière’s tenure will be commemorated with a bang.

NEW YORK (AP) — Richard Moll, a character actor who found lasting fame as an eccentric but gentle giant bailiff on the original “Night Court” sitcom, has died. Moll played "Bull” Shannon on NBC's “Night Court” from 1984-1992 alongside stars Harry Anderson and John Larroquette. The towering actor — he was 6-feet 8-inches tall — did not join the reboot of “Night Court” starring Larroquette. Raised in Pasadena, California, Moll was a history and psychology major at the University of California at Berkeley, and graduated in 1964. Moll is survived by his children, Chloe and Mason Moll; ex-wife, Susan Moll; and stepchildren Cassandra Card and Morgan Ostling.
