Case files from the original investigation were not available to authorities, the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office said. CNN —Travelers at LaGuardia Airport in New York got quite the wake-up call on Monday morning when a raccoon fell from the ceiling at a gate before they boarded the plane. Video shared on social media shows the chaotic critter scene at a Spirit Airlines gate where a raccoon can be seen clinging onto a cable that is hanging from the ceiling. The incident took place around 8 a.m., according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. “The raccoon was safely located and released outside, with no further sightings report,” the Port Authority said. “To ensure safety, airport staff is working closely with a professional wildlife control company to monitor the area, identify potential entry points, and implement necessary precautions,” the Port Authority said.

Challenges filed in Bucks County – which includes Philadelphia’s northeastern suburbs – were all filed by Pennsylvania state Sen. Jarrett Coleman, O’Malley said. Coleman also filed 519 challenges to overseas voters in Lehigh County, according to Tim Benyo, that county’s elections chief. Republicans and outside conservative groups have launched legal assaults against overseas ballots in multiple battleground states, including Pennsylvania, after Democrats touted efforts to turn out citizens who live abroad. Pennsylvania officials said that the lawsuit risked disenfranchising “tens of thousands” of overseas voters, including those in uniform. “In the absence of a registration requirement that applies to (overseas voters), election officials are required to fill their timely submitted absentee ballot requests,” Morley said.

Former British nurse and convicted child serial killer Lucy Letby on Thursday lost an attempt to appeal against her conviction for trying to murder a newborn baby, amid questions over the fairness of her trials. Judge William Davis refused Letby’s application for leave to appeal against the conviction from her retrial. Letby attended the hearing by videolink from prison and sat impassively as the judge stated the court’s reasons for refusing her application. She can now only challenge those convictions if the Criminal Cases Review Commission refer those cases back to the Court of Appeal. Since her trials, Letby’s conviction has come under a spotlight, following criticism by some experts of medical and statistical evidence presented by the prosecution.

WASHINGTON — As president, Donald Trump slashed a lucrative tax break enjoyed by coastal donors and suburban swing-state voters.
