I started my career as a solicitor and worked at PwC as part of their legal team in the UK. From my early days at PwC, I felt Big Four businesses operate super efficiently and do fantastic work. We work with organizations to support their early career talent, providing them with training on navigating uncertainties around personal financial literacy and how businesses work. When you're working at Big Four companies, there are all sorts of rules and regulations about the types of investments you're allowed to make because of audit restrictions. I recommend that early career professionals talk to their peers about what works for them from a personal finance position.

I've lived in the Bay Area, New York, and the UK while building and scaling Zyper. But if you want to be laser-focused without distractions, you can't beat the Bay Area. In July 2022, three months after graduating, I started a full-time software engineering job at Amazon after applying and interviewing for the role. I enjoyed working remotely at AmazonWhen I started working at Amazon, the job was fully remote. I went into the Toronto office a couple of times, but it was super empty. Though I work in tech, I'm not very familiar with social media. I'll spend hours reading through tech documents to keep up with the latest developments. It's emblematic of our flexible post-pandemic world, which has allowed remote working arrangements to thrive. Moving forward, the former Zoom CMO believes that developing in-person relationships and a strong company culture can support the effectiveness of remote work. Pelosi said online meetings are more structured than a coffee chat or desk-side discussions in the office. AdvertisementBecause the video meetings are transactional and set up for a specific purpose, they're dealt with swiftly. This could help drive company culture and strengthen relationships in a world overcrowded with online meetings.

I've also started "quiet vacationing," which is when your employer is under the impression you're working but you're secretly taking time off. Although I've considered leaving my job, I'm in a golden cage. Because I spend a lot of time doing nothing, I started quietly taking time off for travel without taking PTO over the past two years. Why are we having regulations about the hours that I'm online or where I'm working from? The world can't function if no one has a job, but your job doesn't need to be your entire life.

CrowdStrike is well-known in the cybersecurity industry, but until today, I don't think anyone was aware of its dominance as a platform on Windows.
