The most pressing concerns are for convicted rioters required to report to prison before Trump’s inauguration in January, and for rioters with sentencing hearings coming up, according to a source familiar with the discussions. “They’re thrilled with the election, but there’s a lot of uncertainty from their perspective,” the source told CNN. For convicted rioters already serving prison sentences, there’s even less hope to get them out based on Trump’s campaign rhetoric, the source said. She later told CNN that her strategy guide has already been sent to Trump and the Republican National Committee.

Major banks like Goldman Sachs walloped Wall Street expectations thanks to dealmaking fees. Investment banking has made a comeback, and bigger bonuses are in the cards, too. The biggest banks on Wall Street reported a huge boost in dealmaking fees this quarter after a two-year slump. Investment bank revenue surged 30% on average at Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Bank of America, Citigroup, and Morgan Stanley, according to Wells Fargo analyst Mike Mayo. Morgan Stanley's investment bank revenue surged 56% year over year to $1.46 billion, beating Wall Street expectations.

On a recent trip to Paris, I took a 40-minute train ride to enjoy delicious wine in Champagne. It's my favorite French wine region, so I love spending a day in and around Reims. As oenophiles know, true Champagne can only be produced in the Champagne region of France. Luckily, it happens to be the closest wine region to Paris, making it perfect for day trips or weekend getaways. It also happens to be my favorite wine region, so I try to visit whenever I'm nearby.

New York CNN —Wall Street traders are popping champagne and toasting the two-year anniversary of a period of outsized gains known as a bull market. What makes this bull market unusual is how much uncertainty and economic worry investors have had to contend with during its run. Historically, bull markets recover around 194% of the previous downturn, according to Sam Stovall, chief investment strategist at CFRA. While the first two years of a bull market often see significant gains, history shows that the third year can bring challenges, said Stovall. On average, bull markets entering their third year post a modest return of just 2%.

CNN —The New York Yankees clinched an American League Championship Series (ALCS) spot on Thursday night with a 3-1 win over the Kansas City Royals which saw them take the American League Division Series (ALDS) by the same score. Starter Gerrit Cole was the game’s dominant force, giving up just one run and six hits across seven innings, striking out four. The victory sees New York advance to the 19th Championship Series in its history, four more than any other franchise. Kansas City, meanwhile, has now lost its last nine games at Kauffman Stadium. It was the closest Kansas City would come, Aaron Judge recording the final out in the ninth to send New York through.
