Delta Air Lines on Wednesday said sales would grow in 2025, citing a "resilient economy" for strong travel demand and credit card spending, especially for higher-end offerings. Delta forecast revenue growth in the mid-single digit percentage points next year compared with 2024, in line with the roughly 6% growth analysts were expecting. In an investor day presentation, the carrier said it would expand flying by 3% to 4% next year from 2024. Hauenstein said Delta is looking for new ways to segment its cabins after the carrier — and rivals — spent years breaking coach-class into options like premium economy, extra-legroom seats and basic economy. While it didn't provide detail, it's also considering more options for travelers sitting in the front of the plane too, Hauenstein said.

Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian said the Trump administration's approach to regulation could be a "breath of fresh air." Speaking to reporters ahead of Delta's investor day, Bastian noted that President-elect Donald Trump campaigned saying he would take a "fresh look" at regulation and bureaucracy. "We have to invest in this industry," American Airlines CEO Robert Isom said at the Skift Aviation Forum in Dallas last week. In an interview last week, Sun Country Airlines CEO Jude Bricker said: "We just need stability and resources at the DOT." Industry members and analysts also expect the incoming administration to be more open to mergers and consolidation.

As such, premium seats — currently about 30% of Delta's inventory — will be a majority focus of any added capacity next year. Delta is doubling down on premium seatsDelta's premium cabins, including premium-economy upgrades, Delta One business class, and domestic first class, have long been profit drivers. Delta said its Airbus A350-1000 aircraft will be introduced with about 50% premium seats, for example, while the airline plans to add lie-flat business class to A321neo jets. AdvertisementThis all comes after Delta had higher-than-expected earnings in the third quarter, largely anchored by premium seats, even though it was dinged by a costly CrowdStrike outage. From July through September, Delta generated $5.3 billion in premium revenue compared to $6.3 billion for the economy cabin despite premium taking up less cabin real estate.

CNN —If you planned on traveling aboard Spirit Airlines for the holidays, which filed for bankruptcy Monday, you shouldn’t worry. Multiple US airlines have undergone bankruptcies over the years, including United Airlines in 2002, Delta Air Lines in 2005 and American Airlines in 2011. That same low fare model pushed competitors at legacy airlines to offer options for basic economy tickets, tickets that compare to Spirit’s prices but come with restrictions. She said the stigma of bankruptcy may impact Spirit going forward with travelers uncertain of its future. For now, travelers shouldn’t stress as the airline begins to navigate bankruptcy, as it seems like a pretty standard bankruptcy filing, according to Foss.

Known as the “dancing mouse” due to its slippery movements in that final, fatal fight with the Imperial Japanese Navy, the destroyer USS Edsall went down off the coast of Australia in 1942, under the command of Lt. Joshua Nix. Speaking alongside Kennedy, Australia’s chief of navy, Vice Adm. Mark Hammond, said the wreck was found with the help of advanced hydrographic survey capabilities aboard naval support ship MV Stoker. “Nix’s position was hopeless from the moment Edsall was sighted,” Cox wrote. At least one hit Edsall, and the ship began to lose its ability to maneuver. The discovery highlighted the current AUKUS partnership, between the US, Australia and the United Kingdom, she said.

Still, Shakhnazarov's statement comes as Moscow has struggled to maintain its inventory of armored vehicles amid heavy losses in the last two years. Analyst Ronald Epstein reiterated his buy rating on the stock while increasing his price target to $160 from $115. BWX's primary business is providing U.S. submarines and carriers with naval nuclear reactors, nuclear fuel and other components. Although the market for SMRs is still in the beginning phases, BWX is still a key supplier in the market, per Epstein. The Pentagon’s latest public report on China’s military modernization, released in October 2023, noted a naval version of the Z-20 was under development. The exhibition showcases the latest in Chinese military aviation, some seen for the first time in public. He said he expected the Z-20 to soon become the standard naval and anti-submarine helicopter, given its ability to land on ships ranging from corvettes and destroyers to aircraft carriers. Tuesday’s display followed state media reports in May that the Z-20 now had an assault capability and that anti-submarine versions were being developed. In its latest annual assessment of international military deployments, the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies notes that China has fielded 15 Z-20 helicopters for search and rescue work.
