At least 92 people are still unaccounted for in North Carolina as first responders still sort through the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, weeks after the storm devastated the western part of the state. FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell echoed Cooper's call to stop the spread of misinformation regarding the agency and the response to recent natural disasters. "And frankly, it's heartbreaking to see words or active acts of hatred toward anyone, let alone federal responders who are here to help people in this critical time," Criswell said. "We have over 2,000 people from the federal family in North Carolina, and misinformation will not deter us from our mission of helping people.
