15 LSU its second consecutive double-digit loss Saturday night, effectively knocking the Tigers out of the College Football Playoff race with a 42-13 blowout in Baton Rouge. When Milroe plays how he did on Saturday — confident, decisive, efficient — Alabama is incredibly hard to defend. — Kennington Smith IIISEC race remains jumbledThe simplest immediate consequence of Saturday night’s blowout in Death Valley is that LSU’s SEC championship hopes have taken a major hit with the Tigers’ second SEC loss, while Alabama’s aspirations remain alive. AdvertisementBut it’s also easy to see a scenario where six teams tie for second with two SEC losses: LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, Georgia, Tennessee and the loser of Texas/Texas A&M. Back in September, South Carolina’s LaNorris Sellers ran for 88 yards and two scores in a game LSU was lucky to escape unscathed.

In mesmerizing moments like this, FastHorse neatly sets up the tension between identity and the performance of identity — a tension she doesn’t resolve but upgrades over the course of the play to a full-scale paradox. FastHorse, a member of the Sicangu Lakota nation of South Dakota, gradually introduces the horrifying undertow of that fact with filmed segments screened briefly between the live scenes. Distressingly, these segments are based on Thanksgiving projects that real teachers have posted online. In one, adorable young children performing “The Nine Days of Thanksgiving” are made to list the many things, like “six Native teepees,” that Indians “gave” the Pilgrims. Though this is crucial to the play’s project of undoing centuries of racist mythologizing, I was left a bit queasy thinking about the young performers.
Princeton guard Matt Allocco, forward Zach Martini and forward Caden Pierce celebrate during a win against Arizona. When it comes to playing the role of underdog, Princeton coach Mitch Henderson learned from the best. Playing for the legendary coach Pete Carril in 1996, he was a point guard for the 13-seed Princeton team that knocked off defending national champion UCLA, 43-41 in one of the NCAA tournament’s greatest upsets. Henderson authored his own upset masterpiece on Thursday evening—using nearly the same game plan as his former coach, who died last year—as Princeton, a No. 15 seed, knocked out second-seeded powerhouse Arizona 59-55.
