Four suspects were arrested and charged in connection to the home invasion slaying of a New Jersey detective earlier this month, prosecutors said Tuesday. Ryan Salame leaves a Manhattan court after pleading guilty to criminal charges in September 2023. In September last year, Salame pleaded guilty to making tens of millions of dollars’ worth of unlawful campaign donations to causes supported by his boss. Prosecutors said Salame, Bankman-Fried and former FTX engineering chief Nishad Singh used FTX customer funds to donate to political candidates supporting crypto-friendly legislation. CNN —Police in Nashville are crediting rock legend Jon Bon Jovi with coming to a woman’s aid on the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge on Tuesday night. Bon Jovi, accompanied by an unidentified person, appears to speak with the woman in distress and eventually helps lift her back over the ledge to safety. CNN reached out to a representative for Bon Jovi for comment. A source close to the situation told CNN on Wednesday that Bon Jovi was filming a music video on the public bridge when the incident occurred. Bon Jovi has experience and training in helping individuals in times of crisis thanks to his JBJ Soul Foundation, which he started in 2006.

CNN —Riley Strain, a Missouri college student who went missing after leaving a downtown Nashville bar and whose body was later found in a river, died of accidental drowning and alcohol poisoning, the medical examiner’s office said Tuesday. Strain’s body was found in the Cumberland River in West Nashville on the morning of March 22, several miles from where he had gone missing. The autopsy report said Strain’s blood alcohol level was 0.228, which is almost three times the legal driving limit. CNN obtained a copy of the autopsy report from CNN affiliate WTVF and has reached out to the Strain family’s attorney for comment. Correction: A previous version of this story cited the wrong CNN affiliate for the copy of the autopsy report.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A suspended magistrate judge in Pennsylvania shot her estranged boyfriend in the head as he slept last weekend, police said Thursday in filing attempted murder and aggravated assault charges against her. Police wrote that McCoy, 54, had tried “numerous times” to get McKnight to move out after he ended their one-year relationship. He went to bed at about 11 p.m.McCoy awoke to “massive head pain” and was unable to see, police said, and when he began to scream McKnight told him, “Mike what did you do to yourself?" McCoy told police at the scene and later at the hospital that he did not shoot himself. A Vermont mother wanted to teach her then-14-year-old son a lesson after he came home with electronic cigarettes he stole from a gas station. The teen eventually was injected with a ketamine, a sedative, then taken to a hospital, according to the lawsuit and video. When the two officers arrived to speak to the teen, Austrian told them her son was acting erratically and had a rough week. The lawsuit says the teen “reflexively rose from the bed and flailed his arms haphazardly at the officers." Officers told him to stop spitting, and paramedics, who police called, placed a spit hood over his head.

Chipotle said it plans to keep 53 college-town stores open until midnight on Halloween. The chain said it is targeting college towns popular with Gen Z, a group that likes to eat late. But instead of going national with its late-night business, Chipotle is targeting "college towns that eat the most Chipotle," the chain announced Wednesday. The fresh-Mex chain, which has more than 3,250 restaurants, said 53 college towns will stay open until midnight on Halloween – a busy night for the brand. "Over the past two years, Chipotle has seen a 30 percent increase in transactions after 8 p.m. on Halloween and 81 percent of 18- to 26-year-olds surveyed reported wanting to see Chipotle open until midnight," the chain said.
