CNN —Researchers in Denmark have published a case report revealing an unexpected consequence of one of breakdancing’s most iconic moves: the headspin. Breakdancing, or breaking as it’s called by its athletes, made its debut as an official sport at the 2024 Paris Olympics. These can include carpal tunnel syndrome and other nerve problems, as well as a condition known in the breaking community as headspin hole, an overuse injury that can affect the scalp. “This repetitive strain on the skull, scalp and skin likely triggers inflammation, and over time, minor bleeding may lead to thickened skin and scar tissue, forming the characteristic bulge.” Søndergaard, a co-author of the case report, treated the patient. The patient’s head before and after surgery to remove a noncancerous tumor caused by years of breakdancing.

CNN —Archaeologists in Denmark have unearthed more than 50 “exceptionally well preserved” skeletons in a large Viking-era burial ground in the east of the country. The skeletons were buried alongside artifacts from far beyond Denmark’s borders, suggesting Vikings traveled extensively for trade, according to the team from the museum. The conditions at the site are what helped keep the skeletons in such good shape, he said. “We had no clue that there was going to be a burial ground with Viking skeletons there,” Lundø said. CNN —ABBA legend Björn Ulvaeus has tied the knot for the third time, marrying his partner Christina Sas on Saturday in a ceremony officiated by comedian and ex-“Great British Bake Off” host Sandi Toksvig. “Today on the 21st of September 2024, Björn Ulvaeus married Christina Sas from Herning, Denmark,” a statement posted on the 79-year-old songwriter and guitarist’s Instagram page reads. Former "Great British Bake Off" host Sandi Toksvig married the couple in Copenhagen, Denmark. Ulvaeus married Fältskog in 1971 and Andersson and Lyngstad wed in 1978. Ulvaeus married Lena Kallersjö in 1981 but the pair divorced after 41 years of marriage in 2022, a year after ABBA reunited.

But that theory remains contentious, and other archaeological evidence suggests that Rapa Nui was home to a small but sustainable society.
