CNN —A New York judge ordered Donald Trump to pay $392,638 in legal fees to The New York Times after his failed lawsuit against the news outlet and its journalists over the disclosure of his tax information in a 2018 Times article, according to court documents. “The revised anti-SLAPP law was specifically designed to apply to lawsuits like this one,” Judge Reed wrote. Donald Trump alleges she broke a prior settlement agreement when she gave his tax records to the New York Times reporter. The judge also denied Mary Trump’s applications to be reimbursed for legal fees in that order. An attorney for Mary Trump declined to comment on the ruling Friday.

CNN —Jezebel, the punchy feminist blog that was shuttered earlier this month, will be resurrected after the publication was sold to a new owner. The digital media outlet Paste Magazine, which focuses on music and culture journalism, said Wednesday that it had acquired the outlet from G/O Media. “We are honored to bring Jezebel back to life and excited to welcome the site into the Paste Magazine family,” Josh Jackson, editor-in-chief of Paste Magazine, said in a statement. G/O Media, which previously owned the site, shut down Jezebel and laid off its entire staff earlier this month as it announced broader restructuring to grapple with a difficult economic environment. But Spanfeller said at the time that he had not “given up” on finding a new home for Jezebel, which he described as having a “storied legacy as the website that changed women’s media forever.”A representative for Paste Magazine said that the company would begin a search for a new editor-in-chief for Jezebel immediately.

CNN —The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) shared in a news release their latest package of terms proposed to the Writers Guild of America (WGA) as part of strike negotiations. The proposed package from AMPTP includes an increase in wages, which the studios say is the highest wage increase for WGA in 35 years. AMPTP included a four-page document that the organization says was given to the WGA as part of negotiations. We are deeply committed to ending the strike and are hopeful that the WGA will work toward the same resolution.”Earlier this month, the WGA and AMPTP agreed to resume negotiations for the first time since the writers went on strike. The longest writers’ strike on record stretched for 154 days in 1988.
