After Republican President-elect Donald Trump’s dramatic performance with Latino voters, a coalition of Democratic-leaning Latino groups is grappling with the shift and trying to reconcile it with the policies they say many Hispanics support. Along with UnidosUS, Latino-focused advocacy groups such as Voto Latino, Somos Votantes, Hispanic Federation and La Brega y Fuerza Fund sponsored a poll of Latino voters. The coalition rejected national exit poll findings showing that Trump won the majority of Latino men — 55% — to Harris’ 43%. Edison Research, which conducts national exit polling for NBC News and other news organizations, surveyed 2,750 Latino voters nationally. Thirty-seven percent of male participants in exit polling identified as white, while 6% identified as Latino in the Latino groups’ poll.

CNN —Argentina was the only country to vote against a United Nations resolution promoting the end of all forms of online violence against women and girls. During Thursday’s UN General Assembly session, the South American nation argued that the resolution contained ambiguous terms such as “hate speech,” “misinformation,” and “disinformation” that could be used “abusively” to restrict freedom of expression. A total of 170 nations voted in favor, while 13 others abstained, including Iran, Russia, Nicaragua, and North Korea. Milei, who ran on a libertarian platform, has rolled out drastic social and economic measures in Argentina since taking office. During Milei’s presidential campaign, he and his party were accused of making offensive remarks against LGBTQ communities which were deemed hate speech by multiple groups, including Argentina’s National Observatory of LGBTQ Hate Crimes.

CNN —Three people have been charged in Argentina for crimes related to the death of Liam Payne, a former member of the boyband One Direction, according to the public prosecutor’s office. The British pop star, who was 31, died on October 16 after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The late singer had alcohol, cocaine, and a prescription antidepressant in his system before his death, according to the prosecutor’s statement. The first individual is someone whom authorities believe spent time with Payne “on a daily basis” during his visit to Buenos Aires. Payne’s cell phone also underwent a “forensic extraction,” and authorities were able to analyze calls, text messages, chats in messaging and social media apps, the prosecutor’s office wrote.

Buenos Aries CNN —The body of British musician Liam Payne, who died Wednesday in Buenos Aires, will not be delivered to his family until authorities conclude the final clinical tests, a source told CNN Saturday. Geoff Payne, father of the former One Direction singer, arrived in Buenos Aires on Friday. The source told CNN authorities allowed Payne to see his son’s body in the morgue. Genaro Garcia Luna, who for several years led Mexico’s fight against the country’s violent drug trade, was sentenced on Wednesday to more than 38 years in U.S. prison for accepting bribes from the cartels he was supposed to fight. In announcing the 460-month sentence, Cogan said Garcia Luna should have “some light at the end of the tunnel,” crediting him for his work teaching fellow inmates at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. But the judge said Garcia Luna lived a “double life,” with the harm he caused outweighing his good deeds. Garcia Luna served as Mexico’s public security minister from 2006 to 2012.
