“The Devil,” a U.S. fugitive who was featured on “America’s Most Wanted,” has been captured in Mexico, the United States Marshals Service said. Antonio Riano, 62, was arrested Thursday in his hometown of Zapotitlan Palmas, State of Oaxaca, Mexico, officials said, where he was found to be working an ironic job. “When Riano was arrested in Mexico he was found to be working as a local police officer,” the agency said in a press release on Thursday. Afterwards, he fled the United States allegedly to avoid prosecution. After being captured, Riano was flown from Mexico City to Cincinnati, then transported to the Butler County Jail.

The former president praised the Secret Service agents who piled in when a gunman opened fire at an election rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Simon Morgan, a security expert and former bodyguard to the British royal family, said the criticism of the Secret Service hasn't been entirely fair. Secret Service agents were unfairly judged, Morgan saidMorgan cautioned members of the public with "limited knowledge" to think twice before commenting. "The only people who can comment on what happened are those Secret Service agents," Morgan said. But according to a local law enforcement officer and the Butler County sheriff, law enforcement weren't aware that he also had a gun.

A key question after an assassination attempt on former President Donald J. Trump a week ago is why the Secret Service excluded from its secured zone a nearby warehouse the gunman used for his assault. But another possible flaw in the Secret Service’s plans for the campaign rally at the farm show grounds in Butler, Pa., is emerging. The protection agency expected the sizable contingent of officers from local law enforcement agencies to contain any threats outside of the secured zone but assigned almost all those officers to work inside it, according to numerous interviews with local law enforcement and municipal officials. CNN —A local police officer saw the gunman on the rooftop during former President Donald Trump’s Pennsylvania rally on Saturday but was unable to engage him, Butler County Sheriff Michael T. Slupe told CNN’s Pamela Brown on Sunday. Slupe said that Butler Township officers received calls about a suspicious person outside the perimeter of the rally and went looking to find that person. The initial calls did not indicate the suspicious person had a gun, he said. During the search for the suspicious person, officers with township police discovered that the gunman was on the roof, and one local officer hoisted another to get up to the ledge. Had he known there were any threats of a gunman, Slupe said, he would have done “everything to stop him (Trump) from coming out.”
