This week, the numbers are screaming to go with Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, one of eight quarterbacks averaging more than 300 passing yards a game. This week, I’m riding with Sampson to lead all rushers in yards because he’s facing a Mississippi State defense that’s ranked 124th against the run. Dart’s 515 passing yards and six TDs last week against Arkansas, with a breakout performance from Jordan Watkins, provide more reason for me to stick with my midseason prediction. AdvertisementWeek 10 report cardAs mentioned before, my big victory last week was predicting Dart would lead all QBs in passing yards. I had Clemson covering a 10.5-point spread against Louisville with Cade Klubnik (250-plus passing yards, two TDs) and Phil Mafah (100-plus rushing yards, two TDs) doing work.

The company did not respond to a detailed list of questions about Barnica’s care. When Barnica’s husband arrived, she told him doctors couldn’t intervene until there was no heartbeat. The law did not account for the possibility of a future emergency, one that could develop in hours or days without intervention, doctors told ProPublica. As the hours passed in the Houston hospital, Barnica couldn’t find relief. Meanwhile, Lima was pulling up Barnica’s medical chart to make an addition to her records.

By Thursday evening, after a series of court battles and escalating appeals, the Texas Supreme Court had issued a temporary stay of execution. The AG is representing TDCJ, and is calling the shots, while simultaneously attacking the underlying subpoena before the Texas Supreme Court. We expected that the subpoena would be honored pursuant to Texas law and the Committee’s intent. “It’s the entire case, and that is Mr. Roberson’s case,” Keith Findley, professor emeritus with the University of Wisconsin Law School, testified before the Texas Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence last week. The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals previously issued a stay of execution in Roberson’s case in 2016, sending a claim under Article 11.073 (among others) back to the trial court.

As the garbage came down, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian and then other members of the Texas team walked to the corner of the end zone waving their hands and asking students to stop. They were unable to go sideline-to-sideline or downhill as Georgia met Texas with force every step of the way. The second half got dicey, with Georgia giving up two touchdowns on relatively short fields, one after the controversial interception/overturned pass interference, the other after Georgia for some reason squib-kicked the second half kickoff. In the second half, Ewers returned and led a touchdown drive to open the third quarter. Mykel Williams forced a second Ewers fumble with 10:23 left in the game, thwarting a Texas drive in Georgia territory.

Chevron, which has called California home since 1879 when it began as the Pacific Coast Oil Company, is the latest. California accused Chevron and other energy giants of downplaying the risks of fossil fuels. Chevron joins a raft of other companies that have pulled up stakes in California and left for Texas, which had 52 Fortune 500 companies in 2024. And it had 55 Fortune 500 companies in the magazine's latest tally.

CNN —US Rep. Colin Allred will win the Democratic nomination in Texas to take on Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, CNN projects. Allred defeated state Sen. Roland Gutierrez and seven other contenders in the Democratic primary Tuesday. Six years after then-Rep. John Cornyn cruised to a 10-point reelection win in 2020, and GOP Gov. Upholding that proud tradition, President Joe Biden is headed to the border on Thursday — and so is former President Donald Trump. I’m a lifelong resident of Arizona, and border-state voters have heard a lot of talk, but haven’t seen much action. The president’s only other visit to the border was a year ago, briefly stopping in El Paso before racing back home. This would at least mitigate Biden’s polling drop while also giving border states and blue cities a respite from the migrant influx. They’re done with photo-ops next to broken border walls and other campaign stunts.

SpaceX has filed to relocate its business incorporation from Delaware to Texas. The move follows a Delaware judge's decision to void CEO Elon Musk a $55 billion Tesla pay package. AdvertisementSpaceX, which was incorporated in the famously corporation-friendly Delaware, filed to relocate its business incorporation with the Texas Secretary of State, Bloomberg reported. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk publicly railed against the Diamond State and a judge's decision to void his $55 billion Tesla pay package. "The public vote is unequivocally in favor of Texas," Musk wrote on February 1.

Musk's Tesla pay was structured without a salary to involve 12 stock option awards that would only be given once performance goals for each of them were met. Though Musk can appeal the decision, there are signs that this battle is about more than just the massive pay package that has propelled him to a $205 billion fortune. The carmaker is currently worth $600 billion, up from roughly $50 billion in 2018, when Musk received his pay plan. So it's reasonable to take Musk at face value when he says his Tesla pay, as McCormick put it, is a "means of bankrolling that mission." Closer to home, Musk's legal battle could trigger a rethink of where Corporate America goes to do business.
