The information for the following product(s) has been collected independently by Business Insider: Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card. Here's how I combined rewards credit card points, benefits, and a free night certificate to take a $7,000 trip for less than $350 per person. Both my husband and I have the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card from American Express, and we had each gotten a free night certificate with that card. I transferred some American Express Membership Rewards points to British Airways to complete the transaction. The main reason was that our Aspire card came with up to $400 in resort credits a year, meaning our Waldorf charges were ultimately reimbursed.

I used points to upgrade to Delta One on a flight with my son so we could be comfortable. AdvertisementAs a frequent traveler, I stockpile airline loyalty points and frequently earn upgrades to first class, business class, or premium economy. After all, despite rising costs of living, trend reports suggest many US travelers are still seeking to upgrade their flights to business class or first class. Related storySince I was only traveling with my 13-year-old, I used my saved miles to upgrade us both to Delta One, which is essentially the airline's business class. I don't love it, but I also don't feel I'm entitled to sit up front or that flying coach is beneath me.

Global airlines are governed by nine "freedoms of the air," drafted 80 years ago in 1944. The fifth freedom can give airlines a competitive edge and help capitalize on demand. "Five Freedom Agreements"Qantas flies a Boeing 787 on its fifth freedom route between Sydney and New York. Seventh FreedomThe seventh freedom is similar to the fifth freedom but takes out the limitation of where the route must start or end. Ninth FreedomAdvertisementThis cabotage freedom allows an airline of one nation to fly between two points in a separate single country.

According to their contract, Trump Media & Technology Group's cofounders, Andrew Litinsky and Wes Moss, were limited to cheap flights and hotels as they were entrusted to take Trump's media empire public. The expenses outlined in the contract are a far cry from the typical lavishness executives, let alone social media cofounders, are afforded. As Business Insider's senior correspondent Emily Stewart noted, Trump Media makes close to nothing. The company's financial statements reveal that Trump Media made $4.1 million last year and lost $58 million. A spokesperson for Trump Media declined to comment.

Dear Tripped Up,Last year, my husband and I splurged on round-trip first-class tickets on Japan Airlines from San Francisco to Tokyo for $13,474 each. On the same day, I also bought business class tickets for a couple who was traveling with us at $8,429 apiece. In September, Amex notified me that we had been downgraded to business class for the return flight. I contested this with Amex Travel, but they rejected our claim. All three airlines I contacted delayed, obfuscated or otherwise dillydallied before getting me answers, but let’s start with your travel agent, American Express.

In June 2022, I flew business class on an Air New Zealand flight to Auckland, New Zealand. It was my first time in business class and during the 13-hour flight, I was pampered and amazed. The flight's dinner service felt like fine dining, and it was the best sleep I've had on a plane. I spent about 13 hours seated in Air New Zealand's business class on a long-haul flight from Los Angeles to Auckland, New Zealand. From meals that felt like fine dining to a turn-down service, I was spoiled and surprised throughout the entire flight.

AdvertisementTikTokers are striving to "normalize" flying in economy, fighting back against influencers who make out that first or business class is the only way to travel. "Normalize flying in economy," the content creator Hybee, who covers beauty and lifestyle, wrote as the caption of a recent video. Flying business class wasn't "worth the extra cost" to Elizabeth and her boyfriend, she said, because they would rather spend that money on the actual vacation. Advertisement"Don't let anybody make you feel bad for not flying business or first class, because we're all going to the same place anyway." While some noted that economy travel is already "normalized" because most people do it, others appreciated the candor.

I booked a business-class ticket on an Amtrak train from NYC to Niagara Falls, New York, in 2022. AdvertisementFor a 10-hour train ride from NYC to Niagara Falls, New York, in August 2022, I booked a business-class ticket on an Amtrak train for $168. It was $100 more than a coach ticket on the same ride. I previously took a business-class ride on Amtrak from Baltimore to NYC. Ultimately, I found that business class wasn't worth the added price since the experience felt too similar to a typical ride in coach.

Minutes after settling into business class on an Air New Zealand flight, I had the realization that this plane ride was going to be unlike any other flight I'd taken. A glass of sparkling wine at the author's business-class seat. One flight attendant was pouring me a glass of sparkling wine. A third soon followed to introduce herself and welcome me on the Air New Zealand flight. Before this flight, I'd never spent more than $1,400 on a plane ticket.

Celebrities like Taylor Swift are frequently called out for their private jet usage. The average private jet owner is a 50-year-old man working in finance or real estate. Last month, social-media users called out Taylor Swift for her frequent private jet trips (even if some of the flights may not be what they seemed). Stars like Kim Kardashian and Kyle Jenner have also been roasted for years over their private jet usage. Still, despite all the attention and outrage directed at popular female celebrities and their jets, they are not the majority of private jet travelers.
