CNN —Quincy Jones was known to generations of fans due to a career that spanned from the radio to the big screen and the small. Jones was not shy about talking about his extraordinary life experiences in numerous interviews or the 2018 Netflix documentary, “Quincy,” co-written and co-directed by his daughter, Rashida Jones. “The first music played on the moon,” Jones told the New York Times in 1990. Somers faced some backlash for her reliance on what she’s described as a chemical-free and organic lifestyle to combat the cancers. On “Three’s Company,” she was the ditzy blonde opposite John Ritter and Joyce DeWitt in the roommate comedy. “The show’s response was, ‘Who do you think you are?’” Somers told People in 2020. GM and Dodge have both issued timelines to stop selling gas-powered muscle cars and replace them with electric variants that will wear the same badges. Dodge's Charger and Challenger muscle cars will not be made next year, while Chevrolet has laid out plans for an electric Corvette. Brands such as Polestar and Mercedes-Benz (MBGn.DE) have announced optional power upgrades to their sedans that improve acceleration and total horsepower via paid OTA (over-the-air) software updates. Dodge has said it will transition its muscle cars to an electric platform, and is working to differentiate those models.

British smartphone firm Bullitt on Friday launched a new phone capable of sending text messages via space, joining a crowded race to commercialize satellite-enabled devices. They will have to have Bullitt Messenger — the firm's proprietary satellite messaging app — installed in order to reply. Satellite phones have been in the works for decades, but have not yet entered mainstream usage. Bullitt is also launching a Bluetooth accessory, the Motorola Defy Satellite Link, that lets any Android or iOS device connect to its Bullitt Satellite Messenger app, effectively enabling any phone to become a satellite phone. "The company is a trailblazer for satellite messaging but competition is snapping at its heels," Wood told CNBC.

Cash App has expanded its Cash App Pay feature beyond the Square network for the first time. Cash App has taken another step toward becoming a "superapp" by extending its Cash App Pay feature to more e-commerce merchants and an additional payments processor, the company told Insider. With Cash App Pay, users can make online purchases using their Cash App balance by selecting the payment option at checkout on a retailer's website. Retailers including American Eagle, Aerie, and JD Sports will now adopt Cash App Pay as an option for e-commerce payments. There's upside for Cash App as well — by expanding Cash App Pay's availability, Cash App can reach more users, as well as strengthen engagement with existing ones.
