Pochettino was given a contract through the 2026 World Cup that the U.S. will co-host and is tasked with sparking a team that has not reached the World Cup quarterfinals since 2002. But when a new coach is coming, for sure a victory, and that’s what happened,” Panama coach Thomas Christiansen said. The result kept Napoli in second place on six points, three behind Real Madrid who won 2-1 at Sporting Braga. NEW YORK, June 1 (Reuters) - United States' Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic will spearhead their CONCACAF Nations League title defence when the Final Four kick off on June 15 in Las Vegas, with U.S. Soccer naming their training camp squad on Thursday. The U.S. beat Mexico in extra time two years ago to clinch the title and will have a rematch with their rivals in the semi-finals. Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun, who gave U.S. Soccer a boost last month when he opted to represent the United States instead of England, has earned his first call-up. The training camp starts on June 4, just days after Anthony Hudson stepped down as interim manager of the U.S. team, with assistant B.J. Reyna was named in the training squad on Thursday.

In a single dizzying winter of soccer, U.S. men’s national team star Weston McKennie went from Italy to Qatar to figuring out life in a part of England known as West Yorkshire. McKennie had joined Leeds United on loan until the end of the season. And despite linking up with two other American players at the club, Brenden Aaronson and U.S. captain Tyler Adams, very little about the Premier League felt familiar.

The club are 15th in the standings and sit just one point above the relegation zone halfway through the season.
The Atlas Lions made history as the first African team to reach a World Cup semifinal. They made history as the first all-female refereeing crew for a men's World Cup match. It was Morocco's first World Cup win since 1998 — and its third-ever at the tournament. Less spoken about is that they also rate better on television than the men do in the World Cup. We’ll just have to wait and see, though with the US, Canada and Mexico hosting the 2026 World Cup, soccer isn’t going away anytime soon.

USA soccer forward Christian Pulisic has been cleared to play in the team's round-of-16 game against the Netherlands, the U.S. Men's Soccer Team announced Friday. Brenden Aaronson replaced Pulisic in Tuesday’s game. The U.S. Men’s Soccer Team had described Pulisic’s status after the game as day-to-day. Pulisic, a Hershey, Pennsylvania, native who plays for Chelsea in the British Premier League, ranks as one of two players with the seventh-most goals — 21 — in USA soccer history. It's clear the U.S. Men's Soccer Team believes Pulisic's participation in Tuesday's game will be clutch.
Pulisic's 38th minute goal proved enough for the Americans to advance at the expense of their geopolitical rivals in an eagerly awaited rematch of their 1998 World Cup group stage meeting, which Iran had won 2-1. "But it's a wonderful thing when one of your best players is also one of the most hard working. The Americans finished two points behind Group B winners England to reach the last 16 for the fifth time since 1994. Second half we showed what we could do determination wise. Iran only needed a point to advance but they were largely restricted to playing on the counter and unable to muster a credible attempt at scoring until the second half.
Four years after watching the World Cup from home, the U.S. Men’s National Team revealed which players it’s sending to Qatar—with a couple surprises and major questions about how the squad will line up in less than two weeks. The Americans, who begin the tournament on Nov. 21 against Wales, will be led by Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic, who has for years been the pride of U.S. soccer. The 24-year-old is part of perhaps the deepest and most talented section of the roster, its attacking unit. It also features 19-year-old Giovanni Reyna, who plays his club soccer for Borussia Dortmund in Germany; Timothy Weah, a 22-year-old with Lille in the French league; and fellow 22-year-old Brenden Aaronson who has hit a good run of form for the English Premier League’s Leeds United.

Again, it’s more about who we did add that we felt good about.”All but one of the 26 will be making their World Cup debut at this year’s tournament and, according to the USMNT, it will be the youngest team to qualify for the World Cup. LEEDS, Oct 23 (Reuters) - Leeds United sank to a 3-2 defeat at home to Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday, leaving them in the relegation zone and heaping more pressure on coach Jesse Marsch. Leeds, who are without a league win since August, are 18th in the standings on nine points after a fourth consecutive defeat. Fulham also wasted two clear efforts but took the lead in the 74th minute when full-back Bobby Decordova-Reid headed in another cross from Pereira. The goal led to Leeds fans quickly turning on American coach Marsch, some chanting "You're getting sacked in the morning".
