All three of this year’s most punctual airlines are members of the SkyTeam alliance: Aeromexico, Saudia, and Delta Air Lines, in that order. In Latin America, Colombia-based Copa was the most punctual airline, winning that honor for the second year in a row. Riyadh King Khalid International Airport (RUH) took top honors in the large airport category as well as the overall title. For medium-size airports, the top three were Panama Tocumen International Airport (PTY), Osaka Itami International Airport (ITM) and Brasilia International Airport (BSB). Brazil's former President Jair Bolsonaro talks with media upon his arrival at Brasilia International Airport, Brazil June 30, 2023. REUTERS/Ueslei Marcelino/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsSept 21 (Reuters) - A close aide to Jair Bolsonaro told police the former Brazilian president and senior military officers met last year to discuss a military intervention to overturn the result of the election after he lost, newspaper O Globo and news website UOL reported on Thursday. According to Thursday's reports, which did not cite their sources, Cid allegedly told police that Bolsonaro sounded out commanders of the armed forces about a draft decree to overturn the election. Lawyers for Cid and Bolsonaro did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the reports. Bolsonaro is accused of forging an election denial movement that culminated with the Jan. 8 storming of government buildings in Brasilia by thousands of his supporters.

Brazil's former President Jair Bolsonaro talks with media upon his arrival at Brasilia International Airport, Brazil June 30, 2023. A congressional inquiry surrounding those riots, along with police investigations overseen by the Supreme Court, have steadily deepened Bolsonaro's legal exposure since he begrudgingly left office. The Supreme Court declined to comment. The police access to the Bolsonaros' phone and bank records capped a day of setbacks for the former president. Later on Thursday, news magazine Veja reported that Bolsonaro's former right-hand man Mauro Cid planned to confess his involvement in crimes related to the alleged sale of jewelry gifted by foreign governments.

REUTERS/Adriano MachadoBRASILIA, June 30 (Reuters) - Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro's political career evaporated on Friday as a majority of federal electoral court (TSE) justices voted to bar him from public office until 2030 for his conduct during last year's fraught election. Bolsonaro denies any wrongdoing and has already said he plans to appeal to the Supreme Court. The TSE trial is part of a broader reckoning in Brazil with the fallout from the country's most painful election in a generation. While the former president faces electoral court scrutiny, many of his one-time allies are being questioned by lawmakers in a congressional probe into the Jan. 8 riots. REUTERS/Ton MolinaBRASILIA, March 30 (Reuters) - Brazil's far-right former President Jair Bolsonaro returned from the United States on Thursday, welcomed back after three months by hundreds of chanting supporters at capital Brasilia's airport. Bolsonaro, who never conceded defeat in last year's election, is expected to lead the opposition to leftist President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, officials in Bolsonaro's PL party said. Supporters with Brazil flags draped around their shoulders sang the national anthem and chanted "legend" as they awaited Bolsonaro to exit the arrivals area, where security was tight. The Lula government is just doing everything wrong," said 45-year-old small business owner Anderson Clayton, wrapped in a Brazil flag. Bolsonaro left for the United States two days before he was due to hand over the presidential sash to Lula on Jan. 1.
