The average CEO compensation among S&P 500 companies last year was $16.7 million — the second-highest level of executive pay ever, according to the group’s annual Executive Paywatch report. Meanwhile, US workers’ real hourly wages fell in 2022 for the second year in a row by 1.6% after adjusting for inflation, the executive pay report found.
