CNN —The Biden administration is discussing using Guantanamo Bay to process Haitian migrants if there is a mass exodus to the US amid worsening conditions in the country, according to a US official.
“We are clear-eyed that economic, political, and security instability are key drivers for migrants around the world.
A Homeland Security spokesperson said that so far, migration from the Caribbean remains low.
The United States returns or repatriates migrants interdicted at sea to The Bahamas, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti,” the spokesperson added.
And we are ready if a mass migration — if we need to deal with a mass migration.
