Instead of giving up, Colonel Sanders embraced the changes sweeping society. Even after he sold his company, he scorned the idea of retirement, staying on as a consultant and board member and embodying his Colonel Sanders persona in commercials and more. For decades, as a middle-class wife, mother and secretary living in Queens, she kept the pilot light on by taking tiny parts in tiny plays with tiny audiences. Wilder's "Little House" books, treasured by millions, became an enduring chronicle of family life on the American frontier. Four years later, she reconnected with her junior high crush and high school boyfriend, Harry Kullijian.

In American politics, there is a difference between being old and seeming old — especially when appearing on TV. On TV, he looks ready to burst through your screen — which I find unsettling, but his fans really seem to enjoy. Then there’s Joe Biden, whose urgent challenge in the high-stakes presidential debate on Thursday is precisely this: how to be old on TV without seeming old — or worse, elderly. Mr. Biden is an effective president, but most people don’t watch how someone looks, sounds and moves on TV and think purely about his policy record. Coming across like an old friend, an old hand or even a grumpy old man can have plenty of upside, conveying warmth, experience, humor or a self-deprecating touch.

Bob Barker and Betty White were American television fixtures for decades, both known for supporting animal welfare, but they were so divided on what they thought was best for an elephant named Billy that it was rumored to have caused a feud between the two. The feud rumor was published in 2009 in The National Enquirer, which cited anonymous sources who said Barker had threatened to not attend the Game Show Awards if White attended. This claim was repeated by a number of gossip blogs at the time and circulated again after Barker’s death on Saturday. White died in December 2021. Neither Barker nor White appears to have addressed the rumor in public, and all reports of their supposed feud seem to trace back to The Enquirer.

New York CNN Business —Admit it: You’ve probably either Googled the answer for Wordle, or at the very least searched to play it. Google has revealed that “Wordle” is its most-searched term this year in the United States and globally, signifying that the five-letter guessing game owned by the New York Times still has a grip on us. Some days, however, getting the answer is tricky, prompting people to search for hints, tips and even the result. So much so, that the New York Times (NYT) bought Wordle in February 2022 to bolster its gaming subscription business and attract new people to the newspaper. Wordle remains free to play, but the Times puts its other games behind a paywall following a limited amount of free plays.
Rich Rotella, 38, is an actor who had limb-lengthening surgery to advance his career. The surgery itself took four hours, but the recovery is the most time-consuming part — it's a slow, painful process. Rotella in a wheelchair after his limb-lengthening surgery. I don't pay heed to negative reactions that I've gotten from the people around me who still think I was wrong to do this, because limb-lengthening surgery is just like any other cosmetic surgery.
A sale of more than 1,600 items belonging to beloved actress Betty White brought in more than $4 million over the weekend, surpassing auctioneers’ expectations. But some items—including Ms. White’s “The Golden Girls” director’s chair and some of her signed teleplays from the hit NBC sitcom—went for tens of thousands of dollars more than their original estimates.

But we don't need research to prove that the post-COVID-19 celebrities will all look a little bit like Leslie Jordan. Jordan is one of the true stars of the lockdown, amassing more than 3.8 million Instagram followers in a little over a month. Our dear Leslie might be complaining a bit, but he's still trying to make the most of what he has. Jordan just got on Instagram about a year ago at the urging of the PR team for the one-season FX sitcom "The Cool Kids." They signed him up with an Instagram account, and he started recording videos from his home in West Hollywood, California.
