Mr. Vines, who now works out of a storefront in Fountain, N.C., grew up on a plantation in nearby Greene County during the Jim Crow era, working alongside his mother in the fields for meager wages. When he got older, he toured for a bit as a jazz musician. But the quest to recreate that one sound proved to be the animating force of his life. “These guitars here got a character and a sound of their own,” Mr. Vines said in a video accompanying his exhibition. “You’re going to get something really special and unique, like the opposite of a guitar you just buy off the rack.”

Pe 14 noiembrie s-a desfășurat etapa republicană a concursului literar „La izvoarele înțelepciunii”, care a fost consacrată vieții și operei blagiene. # A fost profesor universitar la Cluj, Catedra de Filosofie a Culturii fiind introdusă în mod special pentru el. # Deoarece nu a acceptat marxism-leninismul, a fost înlăturat de la catedra de filosofie, lucrând tot restul vieții în cadrul Bibliotecii Academiei. # În anul 1956, Lucian Blaga a fost propus de Rosa del Conte și de criticul Basil Munteanu, dar se pare că ideea a pornit chiar de la Mircea Eliade, pentru a primi Premiul Nobel pentru Literatură. # Despre cum fugea sâmbăta de la școală pentru a-și vedea familia, despre pasiunea pentru lectură, dar și despre multe altele, Blaga a scris romanul autobiografic „Hronicul și cântecul vârstelor”.
