CNN —Lady Gaga is returning to the desert to mark her second appearance as the headliner for Southern California’s signature Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The Oscar-winner was announced as one of the three top headliners on Wednesday, according to the festival’s website, with Green Day and Post Malone rounding out the trio. Gaga will be the Friday headliner at the two-weekend fest, with Green Day headlining on Saturday and Malone serving as the Sunday headlining act. Rapper Travis Scott will also be appearing at the festival to perform a career retrospective set, according to Goldenvoice, the festival’s organizer. Bomb threats were reported across five key battleground states, both to polling places and government offices where votes are counted. CNN —In the closely watched battleground state of Michigan, election officials are under the microscope, with isolated mistakes or missteps serving as fodder for election deniers to lay the groundwork for widespread doubt of election results. Some of the confusion appears to have originated from a post on X by Matthew DePerno, one of the more high-profile election deniers in Michigan. DePerno has pleaded not guilty in the voting machines case. When it does happen, we take it extremely seriously,” Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Washtenaw County Prosecutor Eli Savit said in a statement. CNN —Michigan prosecutors charged a Chinese citizen with voter fraud and perjury after he allegedly cast a ballot in the 2024 election, authorities announced Wednesday. Authorities said the man isn’t a US citizen, and therefore can’t vote in federal elections. Experts say illegal voting by non-citizens is extremely rare, and when it does happen, it is usually caught quickly. Authorities did not identify the Chinese student accused of voting in the election. Washtenaw County Clerk Lawrence Kestenbaum told CNN ballots can’t be retrieved once they have gone through the tabulator.
