MEXICO CITY (AP) — Regional Mexican music — a catchall term that encompasses mariachi, banda, corridos, norteño, sierreño and other genres — has become a global phenomenon, topping music charts and reaching new audiences as it crosses borders. RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) — Former UFC champion Francis Ngannou shockingly went the distance in his boxing debut early Sunday morning, even knocking down reigning WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury at one point, but Fury remained undefeated after winning a split decision. Two judges gave Fury the fight by scores of 96-93 and 95-94, and the other judge favored Ngannou 95-94. Good thing for Fury, because Ngannou showed early in the scheduled 10-round fight that he wasn't going anywhere. New York CNN —Bad Bunny and some of the music industry’s biggest stars want a lawsuit that alleges copyright infringement of a 1989 song thrown out of court. Lawyers from Freundlich Law representing Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, known as the superstar Bad Bunny, filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit Thursday, arguing the musical elements in question don’t fall under copyright protection. Bad Bunny himself is accused in the lawsuit of copyright infringement for 77 songs, the motion said. The lawsuit was originally filed in 2021.
