But there's no denying that a large number of people, mostly women, found Joe Arden's voice to be exceedingly hot: smooth, insistent, husky, occasionally dropping to a seductive growl. Arden's voice made him one of the most popular romance audiobook narrators of his generation. Last year, a promising new romance author reached out to Blue Nose Audio and received a reply from Joe Arden. "My working name of 'Joe Arden,' has always been just that, a professional persona that labeled my career," he added. For good measure, they dug up Cronin's abandoned trademark application for the Joe Arden moniker, first filed in 2020.

CNN —Paul McCartney’s legendary lost guitar will gently weep no more as it was reunited with its owner more than 50 years after it was stolen. He continued to play it once The Beatles had split up but it was stolen in 1972 from the back of a van in Notting Hill, London. “The search for the bass wasn’t just for Paul McCartney, it was for all the fans,” Wass told CNN on Friday. “The evidence along the way would suggest that the thief didn’t know what he was stealing that night,” Scott Jones said. “In a sense it has no value except to Paul McCartney and to every Beatles fan in the world … it’s priceless.”

LONDON (AP) — Paul McCartney no longer gently weeps for his original bass guitar. “Paul said to me, ‘Hey, because you’re from Höfner, couldn’t you help find my bass?’” Wass said. The thief didn't set out to steal McCartney's instrument and panicked when he realized what he had, Jones said. Its estimated value is based on the fact that a Gibson acoustic guitar Kurt Cobain played on MTV Unplugged sold for $6 million (4.7 million pounds), Jones said. It’s a red alert because the minute you come forward someone’s going to go, 'That’s Paul McCartney's guitar.

Before Beatlemania, there was the distinctive Höfner violin bass — the first guitar that Paul McCartney bought after becoming the bassist for the Beatles. That bass can be heard on some of the band’s most famous hits, including “Love Me Do,” “She Loves You,” and “Twist and Shout.”Mr. McCartney picked up the instrument in a Hamburg music store in 1961, and it accompanied the Fab Four as they rocketed to stunning success, becoming the most famous band in the world. But the guitar vanished eight years later. A new campaign is seeking to find the missing instrument, and hundreds of people have responded, hoping to help solve the decades-old mystery: Where is Paul McCartney’s missing bass guitar?

“This is the bass McCartney played … in Hamburg in 1961, at the Cavern in Liverpool and on those first Abbey Road recordings – it powered Beatlemania and shaped the sound of the modern world,” The Lost Bass Project said. All sorts of rumors have emerged about where the bass went and where it could be,” the group said. If you have credible information about the bass, this is your chance to share it and be part of music history,” it added. Heading the Höfner search project is Nick Wass, who worked closely with McCartney’s team and even wrote a book about the missing instrument. “The bass was in need of repairs and so it was sent to a firm in London, early in 1964, who carried these out.

‘1964’ Review: Meet the Beatles

Photo: Paul McCartneyThe Beatles’ first tour of America, in February 1964, was a musical sensation, recalling the rock ’n’ roll energy that Elvis had given the world a decade earlier. It was a cultural watershed, announcing the coming of a new generation. And Beatlemania was a media phenomenon, erupting at exactly the moment the Canadian critic Marshall McLuhan had coined the term “global village.” Telstar had been launched in July 1962, providing instantaneous communications across the Atlantic. As the world shrank, opportunity knocked—precisely when everyone wanted younger heroes. The Beatles happily obliged.

LONDON, July 5, (Reuters) - Personal and previously unseen photographs taken by musician Paul McCartney as 'Beatlemania' was soaring in the 1960s have gone on display at The National Portrait Gallery in London. "They document this period in which they went from sort of Beatlemania in Britain through to global fame - through... their first ever visit to America," exhibition curator Rosie Broadley said. There are over 250 photographs from McCartney's archive on display, which even his team hadn't seen for decades. "A lot of (the photographs are) very intimate and personal....which is why it's called 'The Eyes of the Storm,'" Broadley said. With photographs taken in London, Paris and across America, the exhibition is on until October 2023.

Produced by the Hearst-owned food brand Delish, "Budget Eats" was the kind of digital success story that traditional magazine giants crave. As Xie worked her day job developing recipes, "Budget Eats" was morphing from a pandemic experiment to a bonafide hit. A career recipe developer at work, the "Budget Eats" Xie doesn't even measure out ingredients. "It felt like she was afraid that putting 'Budget Eats' from her kitchen onto this cable network might dilute the honesty," Lennon-Simon said. Bob McGrath, an actor and recording artist who became a generational icon as one of the original human stars of “Sesame Street,” died Sunday. McGrath’s death was confirmed by his family members through a post on his Facebook page: “The McGrath family has some sad news to share. He played the friendly neighbor Bob Johnson, a “Sesame Street” mainstay across five decades and 47 seasons of broadcast television. In 1969, McGrath stepped into his signature role on “Sesame Street,” which was a pop culture force from its debut on the then-fledging PBS network in November 1969. McGrath was indelibly associated with “Sesame Street” for the rest of his career.
