China's artificial intelligence stocks fell Wednesday after the Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. is planning to impose new curbs on shipments of AI chips to China. According to the Journal, U.S. chip makers such as Nvidia will be affected by the move which could happen as early as July. China's CSI artificial intelligence index fell 3% on that news on Wednesday in Asia. The Shenzhen-traded shares of Inspur Electronic Information Industry slumped 10% and Chengdu Information Technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences dropped nearly 8%.

Morgan Stanley raised its price target on Nvidia to $500 and called the stock its "top pick." Analysts said demand has picked up since the chip maker's blockbuster earnings report last month. Morgan Stanley also named Nvidia its new "top pick," taking that moniker away from the previous holder, rival chip stock AMD. Morgan Stanley said there has been a rapid shift in investment away from the traditional server infrastructure and toward AI infrastructure, calling Nvidia the "cleanest story in AI hardware." While the numbers may not be sustainable in the long term, Morgan Stanley still sees "higher capital intensity" through the next several years.

A new chatbot called Pi, launched by Inflection AI, offers personal advice and support. There's a new AI chatbot on the scene — and this one wants to get personal. At one point, I asked Pi to share museum recommendations for a friend visiting New York City. Insider asked Pi how to restart the conversation, and Pi said to "start talking about whatever is on your mind." Inflection AI also said it's "creating a new form of 'boundary training' that will redefine how AIs learn and are trained."
