Trump picked up a larger portion of voters under 30 than any Republican presidential candidate since 2008, according to NBC News exit polling, improving with both young men and young women. In 2020, President Joe Biden beat Trump by 11 percentage points among young men; this year, Trump beat Kamala Harris by 2 points. Among young women, Biden’s 35-point lead over Trump in 2020 shrunk to a 24-point lead for Harris. Among young white men without college degrees, Trump beat Harris, 56% to 40%. “Every candidate and party had an opportunity to really listen to young voters and hear what they really wanted,” Kawashima-Ginsberg said.

REUTERS/Gonzalo Fuentes/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsDec 5 (Reuters) - Elon Musk's artificial intelligence startup xAI has filed with the U.S. securities regulator to raise up to $1 billion in an equity offering, according to a filing on Tuesday. In a Twitter Spaces event earlier in the year he said that rather than explicitly programming morality into its AI, xAI will seek to create a "maximally curious" AI. The billionaire, who has criticized Big Tech's AI efforts as ridden with censorship, in July launched xAI, calling it a "maximum truth-seeking AI" to rival Google's (GOOGL.O) Bard and Microsoft's Bing AI. In 2015, Musk co-founded OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, which has created a frenzy for generative AI technology around the world, but stepped down from the board in 2018. The team behind xAI, which launched in July this year, comes from Google's DeepMind, the Windows parent, and other top AI research firms.

Dec 4 (Reuters) - Call center software firm Five9 (FIVN.O) is weighing options for a sale, more than two years after a buyout by Zoom Video Communications (ZM.O) failed, Bloomberg News reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the matter. Five9 declined to comment while Zoom did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment. Deliberations were ongoing and there is no certainty they will result in a sale, the report added. Virtual meeting company Zoom abandoned its $14.7 billion acquisition of the company in October 2021 after Five9's shareholders voted against the deal. What would have been Zoom's biggest acquisition ever was terminated after proxy advisory firms Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) and Glass Lewis had cited growth concerns and advised Five9 shareholders against the deal.

REUTERS/Dado Ruvic/Illustration/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsDec 1 (Reuters) - ChatGPT maker OpenAI has delayed the launch of its custom GPT store until early 2024, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters on Friday. During its first developer conference in November, OpenAI introduced the custom GPTs and store, which were set to be launched later that month. The company is continuing to "make improvements" to GPTs based on customer feedback, the memo said. The GPTs are early versions of AI assistants that perform real-world tasks such as booking flights on behalf of a user. It is also expected to allow users to share their GPTs and earn money based on the number of users.

For the current quarter, Marvell expects revenue of $1.42 billion plus or minus 5%, compared with estimates of $1.46 billion. REUTERS/Dado Ruvic/Illustration/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsNov 21 (Reuters) - Chipmaker Analog Devices (ADI.O) projected first-quarter revenue and profit below market estimates on Tuesday, as it grapples with the ongoing supply glut in the semiconductor industry. Inflation-hit customers have refrained from placing new orders for chips, leading to excess supply at companies such as Analog Devices after a pandemic-driven buying spree fizzled out. First-quarter adjusted earnings are expected to be $1.70 per share, plus or minus 10 cents, below analysts' average estimates of $1.90. Cautious spending by automakers fearing a slowdown in their electric-vehicle businesses has also weighed on orders at Analog Devices.

But the real focus will be on whether widening U.S. curbs on sales of its high-end chips to China could hamper that run. The results will also be a major test for the AI-powered rally that has helped drive up the U.S. stock market this year, with the Philadelphia semiconductor index (.SOX) up nearly 50% in 2023. The Biden administration last month banned China sales of the H800 and A800 chips that Nvidia had created after previous curbs on exports to the country. Reuters GraphicsCHINA CHIPSBefore the latest China export curbs, demand for Nvidia's H800 chip, a slower version of its flagship AI chip, had outpaced rivals as it was better than the alternatives.
