If departures causing family separation were not substantially likely as to at least some Rule-eligible aliens, the agency would not have claimed that the Rule would prevent that separation. § 1182(a)(9) waiting period of 10 years. The other class of Rule-eligible aliens are stepchildren of U.S. citizens, who must have been present in this country un- lawfully since June 17, 2024. As DHS notes, a small percentage of those departures would be only for a short time because some aliens qualify for the extreme-hardship waiver to the § 1182(a)(9) waiting period.

If you like your European midweek football this is the week for you, with 54 Champions League, Europa League and Conference League matches being crammed into three nights. The Champions League kicked things off with some of the competition’s favourites beginning to bare their teeth. It was also, incredibly, their 31st defeat from 37 Champions League group stage away games. Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden, Erling Haaland and a first Champions League goal for James McAtee saw City get their first win of this year’s competition. They lost a number of key players in the summer and can’t even play Champions League games at their own home, with the 15,000 capacity Stade Francis-Le Ble not up to Champions League standards (they’re hosting matches at Guingamp’s Stade du Roudourou instead).

Return-to-office plans put renewed attention on these tactics, which range from badge swipes to various sensors. Here are the most popular ways employers track office utilization, according to a new survey from EY. With heightened focus on hauling workers back to the office, companies are deploying more "bossware" technologies to monitor compliance with RTO mandates. AdvertisementEY's survey asked respondents, "How are you currently collecting data to maximize and optimize your office space?" It's no secret some companies use their office attendance findings to discipline or fire workers refusing to go back to the office.

Pig prices soared in Europe last year as output was cut by farms squeezed by high grain and energy costs. The EU pork industry has been buffeted in the past decade by a Russian trade embargo, the westward spread of African swine fever and the COVID-19 pandemic. "We're continuing to add costs to the overall pork production chain," Justin Sherrard, global strategist for animal protein at Rabobank, said. That may mean EU pork exports, whose share of production more than doubled to 21% between 2000 and 2020, have peaked. But an inflationary economy may make consumers less ready to accept rising pork prices and deepen a shift towards chicken as a cheaper, more convenient option.

ABIDJAN, Nov 26 (Reuters) - Charles Ble Goude, a former militia leader who was acquitted of crimes against humanity related to his role in Ivory Coast's civil war, returned from exile on Saturday as politicians sought to reconcile after years of instability and conflict. "I dreamed of this moment from my prison cell," Ble Goude told the crowd that stood in the pouring rain. Gbagbo, who was ousted during the civil war and was also acquitted of war crimes in The Hague, returned home last year after a decade in exile. Ble Goude, who headed the notorious Young Patriots street militia during Gbagbo's presidency, was accused of inciting attacks on civilians and United Nations soldiers. Ble Goude told Radio France International last week that he expects those charges to be dropped once he returns.

WORLD CUP 2022 The 2022 World Cup is being hosted in Qatar, which, as everyone knows, is pronounced . Sepp Blatter, the former FIFA president, announcing in 2010 that “Ka-TAR” would host the 2022 World Cup. Hassan Al Thawadi, secretary general of Qatar’s World Cup organization QatarThis has not helped alleviate the general confusion among visitors. “I know it’s probably not the correct way — KUH-ter is for those who probably know what they’re talking about a little bit more — but I’m going with Ka-TAR.”Walker Zimmerman of the United States national team knows he doesn’t say Qatar correctly. Martin Tyler, the legendary Sky Sports broadcaster who is working his 12th World Cup this year, said he would do the same.
