CNN —English Premier League (EPL) referee David Coote has been suspended pending investigation after a video went viral on social media appearing to show him making negative comments about Liverpool and the club’s former manager Jurgen Klopp. The video, which has not been verified by CNN, was posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday. Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp (right) has previously criticized Coote (center). Brugge captain Hans Vanaken scored the resulting penalty to hand Villa its first defeat of this Champions League campaign. “It kills the game.”A very similar indecent occurred in last year’s Champions League compeition, during the quarterfinal between Arsenal and Bayern Munich. The Premier League club has slipped to 12th in the Champions League table as a result.
