New York CNN —“Morning Joe” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski announced Monday, in dramatic fashion, that they went to Mar-a-Lago last week for a fence-mending meeting with President-elect Donald Trump. According to two sources with direct knowledge of the matter, Scarborough and Brzezinski were credibly concerned that they could face governmental and legal harassment from the incoming Trump administration. For that reason, there are a wide range of feelings about the “Morning Joe” meeting, according to half a dozen employees who spoke on condition of anonymity. Shortly after the Mar-a-Lago meeting was publicized, lawyer and MSNBC host Katie Phang posted on social media, “Normalizing Trump is a bad idea. On Monday afternoon, Scarborough posted a link on X to a Fox News story about his meeting with Trump.

An outperforming fund manager who previously sold Meta Platforms shares over concerns about the company's virtual reality investments is now bullish on the technology giant's artificial intelligence strategy. This optimistic stance marks a significant shift for Yiu, who revealed that his fund had previously sold out of Meta Platform shares two years ago due to concerns about the company's virtual reality investments. Meta's Reality Labs division, home to the company's virtual reality technologies and projects, took on $13.72 billion in losses in 2022 before Zuckerberg pivoted strategy. Meta is among the top 10 holdings in Yiu's Blue Whale Growth Fund, which itself is up 16.6% in 2024. Nvidia, on the other hand, recently leapfrogged Intel as the biggest chipmaker by revenue, creating a clear one-for-one swap opportunity. With Intel being the only chipmaker in the index, the sector is underrepresented relative to its position in the economy. Nvidia positioned itself to join the Dow in May, when the company announced a 10-for-1 stock split. Amazon joined the Dow in January, giving the internet sector greater representation in the index. Meta's price of almost $562 would currently give it the heftiest weighting in the Dow, just ahead of UnitedHealth Group .

Challenges filed in Bucks County – which includes Philadelphia’s northeastern suburbs – were all filed by Pennsylvania state Sen. Jarrett Coleman, O’Malley said. Coleman also filed 519 challenges to overseas voters in Lehigh County, according to Tim Benyo, that county’s elections chief. Republicans and outside conservative groups have launched legal assaults against overseas ballots in multiple battleground states, including Pennsylvania, after Democrats touted efforts to turn out citizens who live abroad. Pennsylvania officials said that the lawsuit risked disenfranchising “tens of thousands” of overseas voters, including those in uniform. “In the absence of a registration requirement that applies to (overseas voters), election officials are required to fill their timely submitted absentee ballot requests,” Morley said.

Angelo was paid by a Democratic political action committee for the post, a fact that’s clearly noted in the caption. Campaigning moves to social mediaIn 2024, political content posted by social media creators has become just as important as traditional celebrity endorsements — if not more. Together, the two organizations paid 15 social media creators to produce content encouraging Latinos to vote. Election advertisements are overseen by a different agency, the Federal Elections Commission, which lacks a similar disclosure rule for individuals who are paid to make endorsements on social media. Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has since 2020 allowed paid political content from influencers, so long as the organization paying for it is registered in its ad library.

The women, especially young women, who are appalled at the cartoonish macho posturing and benighted stances of Donald Trump and his entourage? Or the men, including many young men, union men, Latino and Black men, who are drawn to Trump’s swaggering, bullying and insulting, seeing him as the reeling-backward antidote to shrinking male primacy.
