Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones was ordered to pay $965 million in damages by a Connecticut jury for repeatedly claiming on his Infowars platform that the 2012 Sandy Hook school massacre was a government hoax.

Mr. Jones was found liable for defamation in a case brought by eight of the families whose loved ones died in the elementary school shooting, as well as a Federal Bureau of Investigation officer who was a first responder.
