Last week, LSEG, which owns London's 300-year old stock exchange, raised its mid-term growth guidance to "mid-to-high single" digits and said it would return a billion pounds to shareholders in 2024 as it looks beyond the integration of data and analytics company Refinitiv. NEW YORK, Aug 14 (Reuters Breakingviews) - Chief financial officers are stepping into an increasingly rapidly revolving door. loadingIn the first half of this year, 103 of the top 1,000 companies ranked by Fortune lost their CFO, according to executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles. CFOs are grappling with rising inflation and interest rates – in some cases, for the first time in their careers. High CFO turnover looks far from transitory. LONDON/BERLIN, May 30 (Reuters) - Nestle (NESN.S), the world's biggest packaged food company, said on Tuesday it had hired the London Stock Exchange Group's (LSEG) finance chief Anna Manz as its new chief financial officer. Manz will replace Francois-Xavier Roger, who the company said is stepping down to "pursue new professional challenges" after eight years in the role. Nestle, whose more than 2,000 brands include Kit Kat, Haagen-Dazs and Nescafe, said Manz will join Nestle as soon as she is released from her current duties. "We trust that Anna will pursue Francois' legacy, considering her strong career at Diageo," Vontobel analyst Jean-Philippe Bertschy said. Rival Unilever Plc (ULVR.L) also said on Tuesday that CFO Graeme Pitkethly would leave the consumer goods giant by the end of May 2024 after more than two decades.
"In addition to our existing share buyback, we are today announcing plans to seek shareholder approval for a buyback directed towards the Blackstone/Thomson Reuters consortium's stake, which will benefit all shareholders," LSEG Chief Executive David Schwimmer said in a statement. The directed buyback is expected to be up to 750 million pounds by April 2024, LSEG said. LSEG said 300 million pounds of a separate, broader 750 million pound share buyback was carried out in 2022, with the remainder to be completed by July 2023. TARGETSLSEG's total income, including recoveries, of 7.743 billion pounds ($9.28 billion) in preliminary results for 2022, was just above analysts' consensus of 7.733 billion pounds, and up from 6.535 billion in 2021. LSEG also raised its guidance on revenue synergies from 225 million pounds by 2025 to 350-400 million pounds.
