Elon Musk spent Christmas Eve moving X's data servers from one facility to another. The facility was a major cost for X, according to Musk's new biography penned by Walter Isaacson. The next day, Christmas Eve, Musk called in reinforcements including friends from Tesla, SpaceX, and The Boring Company to procure equipment and tools needed to move the servers. Musk later admitted the "whole Sacramento shutdown was a mistake," after the lack of servers caused a whole host of issues. Isaacson wrote that Musk's Sacramento incident was "an example of his recklessness, his impatience with pushback, and the way he intimidated people."

Elon Musk hired two cousins to work at Twitter, two people familiar with the matter told Insider. Elon Musk took over Twitter in late October and has since laid off thousands of staff. His cousins James Musk and Andrew Musk – sons of the billionaire's uncle on his father's side – now appear to be full-time Twitter employees. Andrew Musk works on software-engineering projects, while James Musk is more of as "a fixer type," helping Elon Musk on various tasks, one insider said. Since Elon Musk took over Twitter in late October, about 70% of the 7,500-strong workforce staff have been laid off, fired or resigned.

Elon Musk has authorized Tesla, Boring Company, and Neuralink staff to work at Twitter, per CNBC. Some Tesla directors were also enlisted to work at Twitter, CNBC reported, citing documents. More than 50 employees at Tesla have been authorized to work at Twitter, according to internal documents seen by CNBC. As well as Tesla workers, the world's richest man has also enlisted two staff members from his tunnelling venture, The Boring Company, and one employee from his brain-chip business, Neuralink, CNBC reported, citing the documents. CNBC's report follows the firing of some top executives at Twitter, as well as CEO Parag Agrawal, hours after Musk took over the site.

Musk has a 16 year old son, Saxon James Musk, whom he frequently mentions on Twitter, although the Twitter workers have yet to see any confirmation that James Musk is of any relation to their new owner. "This is it," one of the people familiar said, describing the feeling at the company under Musk. Many engineers were tasked over the weekend with "sprints," set periods of time for coding work to be done.
