From Friday, citizens of nine more countries can enter China without needing a visa to visit. South Korea is a major tourism source market for China. In 2019, some 4.3 million South Koreans visited China, according to The Korea Times. Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported less than 1.3 million visited in 2023. Share prices of prominent Chinese and Korean travel companies rose following Beijing's announcement of the expanded visa-free program on Friday.

I've been to over 40 countries and have had the best experiences traveling without an itinerary. By not having a detailed plan for each day, I'm able to wander around freely and people-watch. AdvertisementI've been obsessed with travel since I was young, and so far, I've ticked off more than 40 countries on my bucket list. Although planning can save time and money, some of my best travel experiences have resulted from just winging it. However, I've found that some of my favorite travel memories were due to spontaneity.

We ended up in the medieval town of Loches due to a recommendation from a local. One of my favorite examples of this approach was when my husband and I took a road trip from Paris to Andorra with our son. In Paris, someone from the car hire company recommended we visit Loches, a medieval town in the Loire Valley. The next day, we asked a server where she'd recommend staying within three or four hours south of where we were. We absolutely loved walking through the cobblestone streets, exploring its religious sites, and listening to the church bells in the morning.

For Arizona Republicans, the resurgence of the state’s Civil War-era abortion ban was a political catastrophe that threatened to tip competitive races toward Democrats. SOLDEU, Andorra (AP) — Marta Bassino edged out Federica Brignone for an Italian one-two finish in a tight opening run of a women’s World Cup giant slalom Saturday. Mikaela Shiffrin sits out this weekend’s races to nurse a left knee injury and the American star could lose her lead in the overall World Cup standings to Lara Gut-Behrami. The Swiss skier won the previous GS and trails Shiffrin by 95 points. In Saturday's race, Bassino showed glimpses of her best as the Italian skier looked for her first podium result of the season. She won the World Cup title in the discipline in 2021 but has won just one World Cup race over the last three years.

CNN —US skiing star Mikaela Shiffrin has set no timeline for her return to the slopes as she continues her recovery process following a high-speed crash in January. “This one, to be honest, I kind of saw it coming from the air, a little bit,” she added. “I was trying to avoid that scenario, but it also happens fast enough there’s not a lot you can do about it. Shiffrin rushed to his side at the hospital and was with him when he woke up from surgery. He just makes everyone around him smile.”Mikaela Shiffrin says she was lucky to avoid serious injury during a crash last month.

American ski racer Mikaela Shiffrin will skip giant slalom and slalom races this weekend in Andorra to give her knee more time to mend. Shiffrin, who’s chasing her sixth overall World Cup title this season, was hurt in a crash nearly two weeks ago during a downhill event at Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy. Although she avoided major damage to her left knee, she said she’s dealing with an MCL sprain along with a sprain of the tibiofibular ligament. She added that she continues to recover from a bone bruise she suffered at the start of the season. “I really want to do this right,” Shiffrin said Wednesday of her recovery.

The unbeaten Swiss moved top of Group I, with 16 points from eight matches, but only ahead of Romania on goal difference. Israel are third on 12 points with all three countries having two games left. Vargas came within inches of doubling his tally five minutes after his goal when he thundered a shot off the crossbar. As a result, Israel play four games in the space of nine days to complete their qualifying campaign. The Swiss face Kosovo in Basel on Saturday and then complete their campaign away in Romania on Tuesday.

The Spain striker was the centre of attention again when midfielder Gavi fired home four minutes after the break and another VAR offside check ensued, but this time he was in the clear and the goal was allowed to stand. Norway set up to hit Spain on the break but struggled to create much in attack as the visitors kept striker Erling Haaland shackled to reach the finals with two games to spare. A brilliant volley from Yunus Akgun just before the hour put Turkey on course for a comprehensive win against Latvia that ensured they will take their place at next year's tournament. Gavi's winning goal for Spain against Norway in a European Championship qualifier on Sunday will likely have been cheered as wildly in Glasgow as it was in Madrid. The Barcelona midfielder's strike at Ullevaal Stadium in Oslo secured a 1-0 win that means both Spain and Scotland have qualified for Euro 2024. Scotland might not harbor realistic ambitions of winning Euro 2024, but it has arguably exceeded expectations by qualifying from Group A. Wales moved up to second in the group ahead of Croatia in third, with both teams on 10 points. Poland drew 1-1 with Moldova to leave those teams three points and four points off the top respectively.

"I just expect the truth to be told and this to be over," Santacana told reporters outside the court, where he is yet to be heard. Sanchez Vicario was ordered in 2009 by the Supreme Court to pay a 5.2 million euros fine for tax fraud. In a civil suit in 2014, a Spanish court ruled in favour of the bank but the money was never paid, so the bank resorted to the criminal courts.

"Thanks to Dan for an amazing battle in this velodrome," the 27-year-old Ganna said after claiming his seventh track world title, six of them coming in the 4km individual pursuit. Aerodynamics guru Bigham was part of Britain's gold medal-winning team pursuit squad at last year's track worlds and is eyeing next year's Olympics in Paris. Victory also gave the American her 138th podium to break the women's record she shared with compatriot Lindsey Vonn after finishing third in Saturday's slalom. MADRID, Jan 31 (Reuters) - A group of 23 people, including soccer players, have been arrested as part of a probe into suspected match-fixing in non-professional Spanish, Andorran and Gibraltarian soccer leagues, Spanish police said on Tuesday. "A second layer of the scam comprised soccer players who took advantage of their position to organise the fixing in the teams under their influence," police said. No players were identified, but police said the ring targeted some 30 games in non-professional leagues such as Spain's third division and the local leagues of micro-state Andorra and British enclave Gibraltar. The investigation was carried out in 2021 and 2022 with the help of several organisations, including Spain's football federation RFEF, LaLiga, the Betting Market Global Investigation Service (SIGMA) and European governing body UEFA's Anti-Match-Fixing Unit. CNN —Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué has announced his retirement from football, saying Saturday’s game against Almería will be his last. The defender played 615 games – including 396 in the Spanish league and 126 in the Champions League – with Barcelona, winning eight La Liga title and the Champions League three times. This season, Piqué has fallen down the pecking order as Barcelona attempt to transition to a new era, meaning he’s found his playing time limited. Outside of football, Piqué became the owner of Andorran club, FC Andorra, in 2018. Last season, the club – which plays in the Spanish league system – was promoted to the second tier of Spanish football for the first time in its history.
