We folded seamlessly into our interconnected Swiss communityMy family didn't feel unwelcome or different in our new community. Amy ChallengerBecause of my husband's job, we quickly obtained resident permits to live in Switzerland and acquired health insurance. It eases our days and helps us stay connected to the beautiful nature around us. As the US continues to deal with extreme political divides, we're staying abroadWe are much more connected to nature in Switzerland. Earlier this year — almost eight years after moving to Switzerland — I returned to the US to stay in Manhattan with my youngest daughter.

Read previewChina's leader, Xi Jinping, rolled out the red carpet for his "old friend" Vladimir Putin on Thursday. For his part, Putin lavished praise on China, whose support has been vital during Russia's invasion of Ukraine. But underneath the pageantry and rhetoric, Xi is under mounting pressure over his alliance with Putin — and he has good reason to be wary of their "no limits" partnership. President Vladimir Putin and China's President Xi Jinping attend a concert marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China in Beijing. "Meeting with Putin now is Xi's way of showing that China will not bend to Western pressure," said Torigian.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The United States is welcomed in the Indo-Pacific region and needs to update its approach to have stronger presence there to counter China's influence, said the top American diplomat to Tokyo. “The region wants all of America, not just part of America, economically, militarily, diplomatically, politically,” Emanuel said. “Because they know, an untethered China is a real risk to them, and they need America, all of America, its presence." In August, President Joe Biden formed a trilateral partnership with Japan and South Korea in Camp David over shared security challenges posed by North Korea and China. At the Asia Society Policy Institute, Emanuel called the partnership “a seismic shift in the plates in the Indo-Pacific".

The Meta ad archive shows that since early June, the Trump Save America Joint Fundraising Committee spent more than $500,000 on digital Meta ads. There is no public data showing how much the Meta ads have directly raised for the Trump campaign. Trump's campaign outraised all of his Republican primary opponents in the second quarter, according to Federal Election Commission records. Some of the recent Trump ads falsely claim, for instance, that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, "lets violent murderers and TRUE criminals run wild in her city." Ahead of St. Patrick's Day, I visited McSorley's Old Ale House, which was established in 1854. I was also surprised by how it made me feel pride as an Irish American. AdvertisementI've lived in New York City for almost four years, but I have never been to McSorley's, the oldest Irish pub in the city. Not only is McSorley's the most historic Irish tavern in New York, but it's also often called the oldest Irish tavern in America that's still in operation. Established in 1854, McSorley's is celebrating its 170th anniversary this year, and it is certainly the place to go around St. Patrick's Day.
