During a landmark visit to the Amazon rainforest on Sunday, President Joe Biden highlighted his climate legacy, declaring that no one can reverse America’s green transition as President-elect Donald Trump’s fossil-friendly policies loom large. Called “Amazon Haul,” the mobile-only experience debuted Wednesday in the Amazon app and has everything from fashion accessories to home goods, plus clothes and electronics. Counterfeiting has ballooned into a massive problem for Crye, costing it millions of dollars a year, said Jonathan Antone, the company's general counsel. By 2016, sellers were speaking out about Amazon's growing counterfeit problem, telling CNBC of the company's effort to openly court Chinese manufacturers. "There's a lot more space on that digital shelf for potential counterfeit products," he added. Agents seized "multiple tractor trailer loads" of counterfeit MultiCam products, estimated to be worth $8 million, according to court documents. Crye showed CNBC examples of counterfeit MultiCam products that were allegedly sold by retailer L&Q Tactical, one of the defendants in the lawsuit, on Amazon.

Amazon’s newest savings benefit could alleviate some of that potential grief for its over 184 million Prime subscribers. Amazon is shutting down a service that offers same-day delivery from mall and brick-and-mortar retailers, CNBC has learned. Select retail partners will be able to continue fulfilling orders with Amazon Today through Jan. 24, 2025, Amazon told CNBC. The closure of Amazon Today is the latest example of the company’s broader cost-cutting efforts. Launched in 2022, Amazon Today allows retailers who sell on Amazon to offer speedy delivery from their brick-and-mortar stores and shopping malls in select cities. Amazon Today was part of the company’s push to get online purchases to shoppers’ doorsteps at faster speeds.

Payton has downplayed the effect the emotions of the visit will have on the game itself, as has Dennis Allen, the longtime Saints assistant who succeeded Payton. New Orleans has converted 47% of its third-down opportunities, the NFL’s third-highest rate, while the Broncos rank second worst at 25%. Saints rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler completed 22 of his 40 passes against Tampa Bay with a touchdown and two interceptions Sunday in his pro debut. That could spell trouble against a New Orleans defense with 10 interceptions, second most in the league.

Amazon Web Services is investing over $500 million in nuclear power, announcing three projects from Virginia to Washington State. Amazon is the latest large tech company to buy into nuclear power to fuel the growing demands from data centers. An estimated 70% of the world’s internet traffic travels through Data Center Alley each day. “Small modular nuclear reactors will play a critical role in positioning Virginia as a leading nuclear innovation hub,” said Virginia Gov. “Amazon and X-energy are poised to define the future of advanced nuclear energy in the commercial marketplace,” said X-energy CEO J. Clay Sell.
