Carlos Osorio/APCowboys continue improbable playoff pushThe Dallas Cowboys continued their improbable late-season playoff push as they beat their NFC East division rivals, the New York Giants, 27-20 in Thanksgiving’s second game. “Well, where we are, I haven’t really had time to think past even the quarter, as far as can we get us a win,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told reporters afterwards. The win improves the Packers to 9-3 and sets up a huge NFC North clash with the Lions next week at Ford Field.

A London-based hedge fund is betting against Cargojet , Canada's largest cargo airline, citing concerns about the company's aging fleet, accounting practices, and leadership style. Allen also claimed that the company has failed to update the age of its aircraft fleet. The Toronto-listed shares of the company have struggled this year, posting a 2% gain while the broader Canadian stock market has risen by nearly 25%. At the time of Allen's presentation slide titled "Cargojet is expensive," the stock was trading at 27 times earnings and 3.5 times tangible book value. Millions of travelers on Tuesday will battle severe weather and congested highways to reach loved ones for Thanksgiving. The National Weather Service (NWS) said in an update early Monday that a pair of weather systems were expected to bring an "Arctic outbreak" across the Central U.S. Wednesday and into Thanksgiving Thursday. Temperatures in the Northern Great Plains will only reach the high teens and 20s Tuesday and Wednesday, 15-25 degrees lower than the seasonal average. The NWS office for the Twin Cities said that Thursday could see lows of zero to 13 degrees Fahrenheit. Roberto Schmidt / AFP via Getty ImagesAs of 7 a.m. Tuesday, airports seemed to be handling the influx of Thanksgiving travelers; there was only one flight cancellation listed across the country Tuesday morning on FlightAware's Misery Map of airline disruption, with just 55 delays.

For most art-world buyers, a work unsubtly called “Comedian” lacked a certain a-peel. But on Wednesday, Cattelan got the last laugh as “Comedian” sold for $6.24 million, including $1 million in fees. The buyer was soon revealed to be Justin Sun, a 34-year old cryptocurrency platform founder from China and based in Switzerland. And while some who have capitalized on those assets will inevitably purchase art, artworks themselves have their own rates of return that depend more on evolutions in taste that don’t correlate with wider macroeconomic trends. Sun, the “Comedian” buyer, used his own cryptocurrency, TRX, to make the purchase, Sotheby’s said.

It may be a coincidence that the celebrity look-alike competition returned to prominence just as American citizens were voting in what some called “the most significant presidential election in our lifetimes.” But once it happened, the appeal was obvious. Here was a different kind of democratic event: a totally insignificant one, in which attractive men with slightly off-kilter features were lined up in public and ranked by the roaring crowd. At the first contest, which convened a flock of Timothée Chalamet doubles in Manhattan last month, the New York Police Department showed up, deemed it an “unscheduled demonstration” and arrested four people. They are typically publicized with posters on lampposts, staged in public parks and accompanied by meager prizes. The Mescal double won 20 euro “or three pints”; the White winner received $50 and a pack of Marlboro Reds.

The stock market has always pulled back when valuations are stretched as they are now, according to Deutsche Bank macro strategist Henry Allen in a note to clients this week. "[T]urning points can happen quickly, and … when valuations are stretched to start with, there can be limited scope for further gains," Allen noted. "[E]xamples of high returns through history have often been followed by sizeable reversals." The bank cited lofty current readings in the Cyclically Adjusted Price-to-Earnings (CAPE) ratio developed by economist Robert Shiller, arguing that "the CAPE ratio for the S&P 500 has only been higher on two other occasions in the last century" than it is today. "Indeed, on both the occasions the CAPE ratio has got as high as it is today, there was then a significant correction."

On Wednesday, his sentence was handed down by Judge Ronnie Abrams in federal court in Manhattan. Dr. Paduch, of North Bergen, N.J., was arrested last April. During appointments, the indictment said, Dr. Paduch told patients to masturbate in front of him, sometimes groping them or showing them pornography. During the course of the trial, 11 victims testified about abuse they had suffered under Dr. Paduch’s care, and dozens more wrote impact statements before he was sentenced Wednesday. Mallory Allen, a lawyer for a firm that represents 140 former patients who have filed civil suits against him, said in a statement that the sentence affirms that “heinous sexual abuse will not be overlooked.”
