We moved south to Dresden and have been so happy with its greenery, architecture, and nightlife. Although the German city was beautiful, we had a tough time living there. In February, we left Berlin and moved about two hours south to Dresden. Plus, we're only about an hour from the gorgeous Saxon Switzerland (Saxony) National Park — a trip there could take about three hours from Berlin. It feels like home to us now, and we're happier living in such a beautiful city.

The September harmonized CPI figure had been forecast to come in at 1.9% according to a Reuters poll. The German harmonized CPI figure was last under 2% — which is the European Central Bank's target rate for inflation — in February 2021, LSEG data indicated. For that, the still elevated core inflation rate would also need to ease notably. Within Europe, data published last week showed that the harmonized inflation rate in France and Spain fell below the 2% target in September. "The recent series of disappointing economic sentiment indicators and lower-than-expected inflation data have provided new strong arguments for ECB doves," he said.

REUTERS/Annegret HilseBERLIN, April 22 (Reuters) - German public sector workers have agreed on a wage deal with employers, Interior Minister Nancy Faeser and the Verdi union said on Saturday, ending a dispute that has disrupted the transport sector in Europe's biggest economy. The agreement for around 2.5 million workers in the sector follows arbitration. Under the deal, each worker will receive a total of 3,000 euros in tax-free payments in instalments through to Feb. 2024 to help offset inflation, said the ministry in a statement. A surge in the cost of living this year has led to some of Germany's most disruptive strikes in decades. The tax-free payments will show up quickly in wallets," said Interior Minister Nancy Faeser.
