Commisso’s claims are provably false, which is why the Albany District Attorney dismissed the case two years ago after a thorough investigation,” Cuomo attorney Rita Glavin told CNN in a statement. The report triggered the eventual resignation of Cuomo, which he announced on August 10, 2021, a week after it was released. According to the state’s report, Commisso told investigators Cuomo grabbed her buttocks during hugs and a photo. Commisso claims she was demoted by the then lieutenant governor, now governor, Kathy Hochul, removed from the front office, and moved to the “demeaning task of answering telephones” for Hochul’s office, according to the document.

More than 50 security guards hired to protect asylum seekers bused upstate from New York City by a troubled migrant contractor are working without proper authorization, a New York Department of State investigation found. The department on Friday notified the two security companies that hired the guards — Trace Assets Protection Service L.L.C. and Wawanda Investigations and Security Company L.L.C. ALBANY, N.Y. — A former Republican county elections commissioner in upstate New York pleaded guilty Wednesday to applying for absentee ballots in the names of other registered voters. Jason Schofield, who is from Troy, resigned last month from the Rensselaer County Board of Elections. He admitted that in 2021 he unlawfully used the names and birthdates of voters in connection with 12 absentee ballot applications he submitted electronically to the New York State Voter Absentee Ballot Application Request Portal, according to federal prosecutors. Schofield, 43, admitted he falsely certified that he was the voter requesting each of the absentee ballots. Former NY governor Andrew Cuomo has filed a 48-page ethics complaint against NY AG Letitia James. The Attorney Grievance Committee complaint accuses James of cooking up last year's sex harassment report. Cuomo seeks unspecified 'appropriate' discipline against James, who is standing behind her report. James' report had concluded that the then-governor harassed nearly a dozen women, including members of his own staff, state employees, and a state trooper. "Attorney General James, Joon Kim, and Anne Clark hold themselves to the highest ethical standards," James said in a statement responding to Cuomo's complaint.
