CNN —Disgraced former Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) President Luis Rubiales was detained and released after questioning upon arriving in Madrid from an international flight, according to Spain’s Civil Guard. A Civil Guard spokesperson confirmed to CNN that Rubiales was detained this morning after landing at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport on a commercial flight from the Dominican Republic. He was detained by the Civil Guard’s Central Operative Unit (UCO) on the runway before being driven away in a van. The UCO is a body of the Spanish Civil Guard which investigates and fights serious and organized crime in Spain. Rubiales was released after testifying at the airport’s Terminal 4 Civil Guard unit, Civil Guard said.

EasyJet announced the order after forecasting annual profit of 440 million to 460 million pounds ($542-$567 million), and said it would restart its dividend, signalling that its recovery from the pandemic was now in full flow. The airline said the terms of the deal with Airbus were attractive and it gave the airline certainty of aircraft supply. EasyJet, which only flies Airbus planes, said it considered Boeing as part of a competitive process.

He added that options to decarbonise, like creating sustainable aviation fuels, are not yet at scale and cost three to five times more than typical jet fuel. Lundgren also said a wide range of stakeholders including governments needed to chip in to ensure decarbonisation costs remain low. A lot of the cost will depend on the speed of innovation, which Lundgren is hopeful can mitigate price hikes.

"It's frustrating because airlines can see strong demand, but they're not able to match supply with demand in many markets. Airbus (AIR.PA) and Boeing (BA.N) have blamed supply chains for delivery delays, while bottlenecks in a network of engine repair shops have also forced airlines to ground dozens of jets. The gathering comes two weeks before the Paris Airshow, where supply pressures are likely to overshadow new orders. I'm a New York University student, and I just returned from my semester abroad in Madrid. Now that I'm back home in my NYC apartment, I realize I learned a lot from my semester abroad. I learned that language barriers were not a reason to stop talking, dim your personality, or expect others to accommodate you. Many students felt pressure to travel, and I did, too. Besides that, I was in Madrid — a global city with so much to see and learn.
