CNN —The ball that made Shohei Ohtani the inaugural member of the 50-50 club and placed him firmly in the history books (again) is up for sale – and could be yours for a mere $4.5 million. The outing was the first three-homer game as well as the first 10-RBI game of Ohtani’s career. The ball from the game is now going up for auction, with bids starting at $500,000 – but keen collectors can purchase it privately for $4.5 million. Two-time AL MVP Ohtani is the first and only member of the impressive 50-50 club – though some fans are hoping he could make it to 60-60. Ohtani has since extended his mark to 53 home runs and 56 stolen bases, with four games of the regular season remaining.

CNN —Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani stole his 49th base of the season on Wednesday night to move to within one steal and two home runs of an unprecedented 50-50 season. “I was hoping for a bad throw because a good throw gets him,” said Roberts after the game, according to MLB.com. Ohtani is also just one home run away from matching the Dodgers franchise record of 49, set by Shawn Green in 2001. Once Knack was replaced with Dodgers debutant Zach Logue, the Marlins struck back with three runs in the fifth. Ten regular season games remain for Ohtani to reach the unprecedented 50-50 mark, and the Dodgers can confirm their ticket to the postseason with a win against the Marlins on Thursday night.

The Japanese star is now just two away from equaling the Dodgers franchise record of 49 homers hit by Shawn Green in 2001. “For him to hit the ball 118 mph at that degree, it’s usually a double,” said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, according to MLB.com. But the Dodgers roared back in the bottom of the first with five runs, immediately turning the game on its head. After two outs, Tommy Edman continued his impressive form with a two-run homer to left field to give the Dodgers the lead. Ohtani now has 16 regular-season games remaining to find the required three home runs and two stolen bases, starting on Friday at the Braves.

CNN —Shohei Ohtani stole his 47th base of the season on Monday night to take him one step closer to a historic 50-50 season as the Los Angeles Dodgers lost 10-4 to the Chicago Cubs. Despite moving closer to making history, Ohtani was not the only storyline on Monday night. In fact, it was the performances of two former Dodgers, Cody Bellinger and Michael Busch, which decided the game. After the Dodgers halved the deficit in the fifth, the Cubs responded an inning later when Busch’s RBI single brought home Bellinger, and catcher Miguel Amaya batted in two more. An impressive return to LA for Bellinger was completed with an RBI single in the top of the ninth, followed by an excellent diving catch to kick off the bottom.

The two-time AL MVP’s fifth-inning solo shot brought him to 46 on the season, matching his career best for the Los Angeles Angels in 2021. Coupled with his 46 steals so far this campaign, the accomplishment means Ohtani is closer than ever to achieving a historic 50-50 season. I've had people say to me that the energy went down and people started to get really, really argumentative in there, so it's what happens when you get rid of me. Speaking of "Love Island," obviously you and Bergie were representing "Love Island" UK and US on "The Traitors."
