LeBron and Bronny are the first father and son to play in any NBA game at the same time, let alone on the same team. Bronny James entered the game as a substitute to begin the second quarter, joining his father on the court out of the timeout. LeBron James is beginning his record-tying 22nd season in the NBA, while LeBron James Jr. — known to all as Bronny — was the Lakers’ second-round draft pick this summer. LeBron sat out of the Lakers’ preseason opener against Minnesota last Friday night, resting up after a full week of training camp following a busy summer.

CNN —It might have been a preseason game, but it proved to be a historic one on Sunday night. During the Los Angeles Lakers’ preseason game against the Phoenix Suns, LeBron and Bronny James became the first father/son duo to play together on an NBA team. Bronny, whose jersey is emblazed with “James Jr.” across the back, was selected 55th overall by the Lakers in the 2024 NBA draft in June, joining his father at the franchise. Lakers head coach JJ Redick said he is “thrilled” to be part of a team with LeBron and Bronny. The team will open up the NBA regular season on October 22 against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks was carted off in the final minutes against Pittsburgh on Thursday night with an injury. Burks tried to make a leaping fourth-down grab down the left sideline but saw the ball slip from his grasp. Medical staff from both teams came out to treat Burks, the 18th overall pick in the 2022 draft. Burks appeared to be able to wiggle his toes as he was being loaded onto the cart. The Titans said Burks had full movement of all his extremities, according to the broadcast on Amazon TV.
