Oct 30 (Reuters) - Ford Motor (F.N) said on Monday it would add more of Tesla's Superchargers to its electric-vehicle charging network, higher than previously forecast, as automakers tap into the EV leader's sprawling charger network to expand the range of their cars. Ford will now add over 15,000 of Tesla's Superchargers to its network, up from its earlier projection of 12,000 chargers. These three providers would bring more than 10,000 new chargers to the network, including more than 550 new DC fast chargers. BlueOval combines multiple charging networks to provide access to the largest North American public charging network offered by automotive manufacturers. The development comes months after Ford struck a deal with Tesla to allow EV owners gain access to the biggest network of high-speed Superchargers in the United States in early 2024.

Sept 14 (Reuters) - Caesars Entertainment (CZR.O) on Thursday confirmed a data breach that led to a leak of information, including details from its loyalty program database. The company said hackers accessed details, including driver's license numbers and possibly social security numbers, for a "significant number of members in the database". Caesars added it is still investigating the extent of the data leak "acquired by the unauthorized actor" and has no evidence to date that any member passwords/PINs, bank account information or payment card information were accessed. Another casino operator MGM International (MGM.N) was also allegedly hacked by a group called Scattered Spider, Bloomberg News had reported. Analysts at Moody's have warned MGM Resorts may see a negative impact to its credit rating after the recent data breach.

RTX said on Monday it would have to pull 600 to 700 of its Pratt & Whitney Geared Turbofan (GTF) engines from Airbus A320neo jets for quality inspections over the next three years. The engine issue was first disclosed in July, but RTX made the extent of the problem clearer on Monday. The announcement caused waves up and down the industry, from component manufacturers like Japan's Kawasaki Heavy Industries to airline carriers like Germany's Lufthansa that rely on the popular Airbus jets. In July, RTX said microscopic contaminants were found in a powdered metal used in high-pressure turbine discs that are part of the GTF engine's core. RTX is one of two manufacturers of engines for the popular narrowbody Airbus A320neo, the other being CFM International, a joint venture between GE (GE.N) and Safran (SAF.PA).

Repair work that CEO Greg Hayes had initially expected would take 60 days is now projected to last up to 300 days per engine. An average of 350 jets could be grounded per year through 2026, with as many as 650 jets sitting idle in the first half of 2024. Sept 11 (Reuters) - A prolonged coordinated strike by the United Auto Workers (UAW) union against the Detroit Three automakers could cut production by thousands, potentially pushing up vehicle prices and exacerbating supply-chain disruptions, analysts said. New vehicle prices may rise by less than 2% if the strike lasts about two weeks, according to automotive consulting firm J.D. That would mean an end to the trend of cooling vehicle prices in recent months, at a time when inflation continues to pinch U.S. consumers. However, UAW president Shawn Fain rejected the idea that worker wages were responsible for auto prices going up in the last few years. In a video released on Thursday titled "Here's what the Big Three and the corporate media's NOT telling you about car prices," Fain said "corporate greed" was responsible for rising car prices.

The issue also forced RTX to decrease its $9 billion free cash flow goal for 2025 to approximately $7.5 billion. The quality issue relates to a "rare condition" in powder metal used to manufacture engine parts, such as high pressure turbine disks and high-pressure compressor disks, that could result in micro-cracks and fatigue. Pratt & Whitney is also analyzing the impact of the quality issue on other engine models in its fleet, but that impact is expected to be far less, RTX said. The company expects to release a service bulletin in the next 60 days laying out an inspection protocol for high pressure turbine disks and compressor disks. It also plans to add maintenance capacity and increase part output to help mitigate the impact to GTF customers, RTX, said.
