The S & P 500 returned 13% annually the last 10 years, above the long-term average of 11%, according to Goldman. Goldman's bearish long-term forecast comes just as the S & P 500 has entered the third year of a bull market, garnering a 27% annual total return the last two years. "The current high level of equity valuations is a key reason our 10-year forward return forecast sits at the lower end of the historical distribution," stated the note. The firm said the equal-weight S & P 500 would produce higher returns than the regular benchmark because of the concentration risk. The Invesco S & P 500 Equal Weight ETF (RSP)F tracks an equally distributed version of the index.

The S&P 500 will see annualized returns of 3% over the next 10 years, says Goldman Sachs. By its calculation, the S&P 500 has about a 72% chance of trailing bonds, and a 33% probability of lagging inflation through 2034. These stocks include tech large-caps such as Nvidia and Alphabet, whose performance has driven the S&P 500 more than 20% higher year-to-date. The same issue plagues a highly concentrated index," Goldman said. According to Goldman, S&P 500 firms that have consistently generated over 20% revenue growth underwent a sharp drop off after 10 years.

In this 2014 photo, Israeli soldiers in the Netzah Yehuda battalion are seen taking part in training in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights, near the Syrian border. While he was in Netzah Yehuda, he said, the battalion’s commanders played a key role in perpetuating a culture of violence, both by standing by as it happened and promoting it. The findings by the expert panel would have been enough to disqualify a military unit from any other country, the officials said. Lt. Col. Read previewContaminated milk may be spreading H5N1 bird flu between dairy cattle, contributing to a major outbreak across 12 US states. A new study shows the virus can survive for over an hour in raw (unpasteurized) milk left on the surfaces of materials used in equipment for milking dairy cattle. That's a clue in the mystery of how the virus has spread so rapidly between US dairy cattle, infecting over 130 herds in Idaho, Michigan, Colorado, Texas, and more. The cattle outbreak has scientists increasingly worried that the H5N1 virus could mutate enough to cause an outbreak in humans. However, the study suggests that cleaning milking equipment between cows and outfitting workers with protective gear could help prevent the spread.

You’re remembering that goal against Scotland in the last European Championship, aren’t you? There was a touch of David Beckham — Schick owned a dozen of his shirts as a child. “It was tough and I gradually lost drive.”He had already faced medical issues earlier in his career. But Schick made the most of his rotational role, chipping in with several crucial interventions that kept Leverkusen’s 51-game unbeaten run alive. Stylistically, Schick is different from his Leverkusen counterparts — he is more of a poacher, clinical in the air and wise in his movement.

CNN —Bayer Leverkusen’s remarkable season took another extraordinary turn on Thursday as a late 2-2 draw against AS Roma stretched the club’s unbeaten run to 49 games. The 4-2 aggregate victory saw Leverkusen reach a first European final in 22 years, while Josip Stanišić’s 97th-minute strike ensured that the recently-crowned German champion remains undefeated this season. It means that Leverkusen has now surpassed Portuguese team Benfica’s record from 1963-65 for the longest unbeaten run across all top-level matches since the introduction of European competitions, according to UEFA. “It says a lot about the team, the conviction that we have and it’s great to finally reach the final. According to UEFA, Scottish side Celtic’s unbeaten run of 62 games between 1915 and 1917 is the outright record for a European club, although that only included domestic league matches.

CNN —Luis Suárez scored a hat trick for Inter Miami on Saturday, but it is not that impressive feat which is the focus of attention. Instead, it is once again Lionel Messi dominating headlines courtesy of a performance which almost defied belief. In a 6-2 victory over the New York Red Bulls, Messi broke two MLS records. Last week, in Miami’s victory over New England Revolution, Messi had set two other MLS records. Messi and Suárez formed a formidable partnership while at Barcelona and the pair have seamlessly transferred that understanding onto the pitch when playing for Miami.

Higher interest rates and lower leverage are a double whammy for stocks, according to Kostin. Markets InsiderThe result has been lower ROE across the market this year. Goldman SachsKostin broke that decline down even further, noting that, of the 69 basis-point decline this year, 31 basis points were directly attributable to higher interest expenses. "Reduced leverage, lower asset turnover, and a contraction in EBIT margins also weighed on S&P 500 ex-Financials ROE, contributing -42 bp total." Today, Kostin sees speed bumps ahead in the form of higher interest rates and deeply rooted inflation, which might stick around thanks to higher oil prices.
