A Miami man is facing charges after authorities said he teamed up with a California man in a scam to steal and launder over $230 million in cryptocurrency. It appears the arrest is connected with an FBI raid of a waterfront home in the area of Northeast 83rd Street and N. Bayshore Drive. After they fraudulently gained access to victims’ cryptocurrency accounts, they transferred the funds into their possession and laundered the proceeds, authorities said. Anna Sebastian Perayil died in July, four months after joining the Pune office of Ernst & Young, one of the “Big Four” accounting firms. In a LinkedIn post on Thursday, Ernst & Young India chairman Rajiv Memani acknowledged Augustine’s letter and said he was “deeply saddened” by what had happened. “This is a systemic issue that goes beyond individual managers or teams,” Augustine wrote. So for many on social media, Perayil’s death was also an indictment of the broader work culture in India, where young job seekers face fierce competition. “Like many in her position, she did not have the experience or the agency to draw boundaries or push back against unreasonable demands,” Augustine wrote.

“If we’re going to put up affordable housing, we don’t just want to house one family. We want to house five or six or eight or 25 families,” said Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, who has overseen the Minneapolis 2040 plan. Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt blamed the higher housing costs on the current administration’s policies, as well as an “unsustainable invasion of illegal aliens.” The campaign broadly said Trump’s housing plan involves freeing up federal land for housing and cutting regulations. Walz, whom Frey said was “committed to the mission” on affordable housing, signed the measure into law in May. We also need to have more active state, local and federal government policies that look to support the housing market.”

Oil prices, which were little changed in early Asian trade on Friday, were on track to end higher for a second straight week following a large cut in U.S. interest rates and declining global stockpiles. Brent futures , which were trading 19 cents or 0.3% lower at $73.69 a barrel at 0027 GMT on Friday, gained 4.3% this week. The U.S. central bank cut interest rates by half a percentage point on Wednesday. Weak demand from China's slowing economy was weighing on prices, with refinery output in China slowing for a fifth month in August. China's industrial output growth also slowed to a five-month low last month, and retail sales and new home prices weakened further.
