Indiana plans to carry out its first execution since 2009 before sunrise Wednesday, with much of the process concealed from the public. The Indiana Department of Corrections said Tuesday evening that Corcoran requested Ben & Jerry's ice cream for his last meal. Some death penalty states have had issues obtaining lethal injection drugs, leading to a moratorium on the practice. Of the 27 states that still allow for capital punishment, only Indiana and Wyoming exclude media witnesses, according to the nonprofit Death Penalty Information Center. Seven other inmates remain on Indiana's death row, according to the Death Penalty Information Center.

Floating fish farms used to be a common sight along Singapore's coast. But now, their numbers are dwindling: As of October, there were 74 sea-based fish farms left, down from 98 in 2023. Much like street peddlers and traditional villages, the floating fish farms are a part of Singapore's cultural and economic identity that is rapidly disappearing as the city-state evolves past its fishing village origins. Many locals still refer to these floating fish farms as "kelongs," even though they're not quite the same thing, Yeo said. He hopes to have a high-tech fish farm one day — ideally on land, where conditions are less unpredictable.

Speaking on the campaign trail in late September, Trump announced his desire to turn Germany’s auto giants into American car firms. Rico Luman, senior sector economist for transport and logistics at Dutch bank ING, said Germany’s auto sector appears to be significantly exposed to Trump’s tariff threats. The potential imposition of tariffs on Germany’s carmakers, Luman said, would therefore make a bad situation even worse. “We are evaluating the tariffs Trump has proposed,” a spokesperson for Volkswagen told CNBC via email. Nonetheless, it is thought that Trump’s proposed tariffs on Canada and Mexico would bring an end to the USMCA.

Eleven Indian nationals were among 12 people found dead at a ski resort in the Caucasus Mountains of Georgia, officials said, in what may be a case of carbon monoxide poisoning. All were employees at a restaurant in Gudauri, a popular ski resort near the Russian border, Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement. “At the initial inspection, no signs of body injuries or signs of violence were detected,” the ministry said. The ministry said Georgian police were investigating the deaths as negligent manslaughter, adding that a forensic team was working to determine the exact cause of death. Stimulant medications, and atomoxetine (a type of antidepressant), were more effective than placebos at reducing core ADHD symptoms during a 12-week period, found the study published Tuesday in the journal Lancet Psychiatry. Prior to conducting this study, Cortese and several other study authors had various types of affiliations — such as for consulting or research — with pharmaceutical companies, some of which manufacture ADHD medications. They also mention non-pharmacological treatment if medication is not effective or not well tolerated, but they don’t specify which kind of non-pharmacological treatment. “Self-perception of ADHD symptoms is fallible in all people.
