But it is Israel’s capture of Syria’s highest peak, the Mount Hermon summit, that may prove among the most lasting prizes – though officials have insisted that its occupation is temporary. “This is the highest place in the region, looking upon Lebanon, upon Syria, Israel,” said Efraim Inbar, director of the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security (JISS). An Israeli military spokesperson this week denied that forces were “advancing toward” Damascus. I'm fortunate to have a rich digital history of my children and the ability to instantly bring up photos and memories. When my oldest son started preschool in 2010, I kept each homemade Christmas ornament he and his three siblings created. Love, Mom." Unbeknownst to me, my daughter and her teacher spent the last few days before Christmas break creating new ornaments for my memory tree. Christmas will be different this year, but I will decorate my tree with pride and a humble heart.

It’s obvious why liberal users might want to leave X. X was originally a rebranding of Twitter, but over time, the service has become, in internet parlance, a Nazi bar. When Mr. Musk bought Twitter, he seems to have guessed, mostly correctly, that even users who disliked reactionary politics would not leave. Staying on X suddenly seemed intolerable to many, but they still needed a place to go. If liberals on X were just looking for a populous new home, Threads would have been the logical choice.

In 2012, the now 47-year-old self-made millionaire was earning enough in passive and portfolio income to retire from his 9-to-5 at age 34. Leg 1: Tax-advantaged savingsA vestige from the traditional model, a tax-advantaged retirement account, such as a 401(k), is still an essential tool for retirement savers, Dogen says. That could contribute to an early retirement, if that's your goal, or it could lift some of the burden off your tax-advantaged accounts for providing retirement income. If possible, Dogen says to contribute even more to these accounts than your maximum retirement contributions — an admittedly tall ask for many employees. But if you can, aim for this portion of your portfolio to double or triple your retirement accounts in value by the time you're 60 years old, he says.

CNN —Social Security is by far one of the most popular government programs in the United States because it is critical for so many retirees’ financial security. More than half of non-retired US adults (53%) overall said they expect they will need to use Social Security to pay for necessary expenses, according to a new survey from Bankrate. Social Security benefits only replace a portion of Americans’ pre-retirement income. Indeed, only 31% of the non-retired adults surveyed said they are not planning to rely on Social Security benefits in retirement, with just 14% saying they will “not (be) at all” reliant on them. Their “normal retirement age” is 67 for the purposes of collecting Social Security benefits.

Social media site X remained the most popular, with 85% of influencer respondents reporting they were on the site. Both candidates utilized social media to reach younger voters, most notably when President-elect Donald Trump appeared on Joe Rogan's podcast and Vice President Kamala Harris joined the "Call Her Daddy" podcast — both podcasts with large followings on social media.
