“Make no mistake, an attack on a ballot box is an attack on our democracy and completely unacceptable,” Oregon Secretary of State LaVonne Griffin-Valade said Monday.
All ballot boxes in Multnomah County and Clark County have fire suppressant installed, election officials said during a news conference Monday.
Voting in Oregon and Washington is done almost entirely by mail or ballot drop off.
