Among these voters, Harris gets a boost because they believe she would protect abortion rights, and some have broader hopes that electing the first female president could send a strong message to the country. Across the last three polls, Trump led Harris 50%-40% among those who were confirmed not to have voted in 2022 or 2020. On the panels, all three of the voters leaning Harris’ way were women who, in part, said they connected with her on an emotional level. She framed her vote as “less of a vote for her and more of a vote against Trump,” and she added that she never gave voting for Trump serious thought. She’s caught between a fear of choosing the wrong candidate and the “guilt” she feels after having sat out 2020.

Soon, Daily Harvest had narrowed its internal investigation to a new ingredient used for its high-protein content: tara flour. Tara flour is one of two products made from the seed pods of a thorny shrub native to Peru. The pods of the tara plant are used to make tara gum and tara flour. As some consumers had discovered, tara flour was not safe, the FDA decreed in May 2024 — nearly two years after the ingredient sickened hundreds. During that time, however, other manufacturers could have used the now-“unapproved food additive.”“This incident shows how broken our food regulatory system is.

The federal government and many state governments are passing laws and regulations designed to reduce our use of fossil fuels and increase renewable energy production. Now let's talk about energy production. Big picture, America's production of oil, natural gas, and renewables is growing with natural gas growing most of all. In 1950, natural gas was about 18% of total US energy production. As for oil, US domestic crude oil production has more than doubled since 2000.

Gap raised its full-year profit outlook on Thursday after seeing better-than-expected results at its largest brand, Old Navy. The apparel company's fiscal second quarter results were released earlier than planned after the company "inadvertently" posted them to its website and then removed them, a Gap spokesperson told CNBC. Gap posted earnings of $206 million, or 54 cents per share, compared with $117 million, or 32 cents per share, a year earlier. The company's second-quarter results didn't blow away expectations, but are solid improvements from where the company was a year ago.
