That rally may not be sustainable, based on the venerable " Dow Theory ." The century-old Dow Theory looks at the relationship between the Dow Industrials and the Dow Transports , and argues that market trends must be confirmed by both groups. In other words, if the Dow Industrials are going lower, then Transports most also be falling to confirm a prolonged negative run. Right now, investors are presented with the Dow Industrials at all-time highs and Transports barely positive for the year. Found Golf Balls CEO Shaun Shienfield, whose company recovers and resells millions of lost balls across the US and Canada each year, told CNN that he gauged the average to be between three and four each round. Using Shienfield’s low estimate, that’s over 1.5 billion balls lost in the US every year since 2020. “While precise global estimates are challenging … the worldwide figure could easily exceed 3 to 5 billion golf balls lost each year,” Petersen told CNN. Mitchell Schols, founder of Canada-based Biodegradable Golf Balls, put a “very conservative” estimate for North America at one million balls lost to oceans annually. One UK-based man told CNN in 2015 that he could earn up to £100,000 (about $114,000) annually by diving to retrieve golf balls from lakes on golf courses.

Heading into a lower interest-rate environment, there is one stock that should be on investors' radar, according to Ariel Investments' Charles Bobrinskoy: Oracle. " AI is all about analyzing your data, and Oracle controls a lot of that data." While Bobrinskoy said Oracle used to be "way too cheap," it is currently "getting pretty close to fairly valued." Bobrinskoy now expects there to be a rotation into value stocks given the view that there is a lower risk of a recession. "Value stocks are very cheap," he continued.

CNN —Far be it from anyone to identify a defined strategy in the cat memes that have overtaken the American political conversation in a pivotal election year. Never mind the state’s Republican governor, who also counseled against a campaign visit, called out state troopers to city schools to ease concern about scores of bomb threats. Intentional or not, the insult cued a new round of stories about how the Trump campaign doesn’t seem to mind turning off women voters. Women voters have shifted away from Trump since Harris entered the race, according to polls. “Every time I do a focus group with swing voters, they bring up JD Vance talking about childless cat ladies.

The orange-robed icon looks on as the pilot speedily executes a dramatic last-minute turn to land the A319 on the slender runway. That’s just another normal working day at Bhutan’s Paro International Airport (PBH), widely considered one of the most technically difficult plane landings in the world. Paro is a category C airport, which means that pilots must have special training to fly there. As the national flag carrier, Druk Air has taken much of the responsibility for pilot training on itself. He believes there are 50 licensed pilots in Bhutan, but that number could easily double in the next few years.

Trump won the presidency in 2016 by stunning Democrat Hillary Clinton to win all three states by a combined margin of about 80,000 votes. But, as in other states, Democrats have been concerned about the risk of depressed turnout and some gains for Trump among Black voters in Philadelphia. Eight years later, the two states split again, when Roosevelt comfortably won Pennsylvania and Michigan narrowly went to Republican Wendell Willkie. This trio of states has arguably become the most consistent tipping point in American politics. In the nine elections since 1920 when they split their vote, the candidate who carried two of these three states won seven times.

Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., sharply criticized other politicians on Tuesday for making public comments about what the Federal Reserve should do with its interest rate policy. McHenry, the outgoing chair of the House Financial Services Committee, said it was an '"outrage" that some politicians are publicly lobbying the central bank about rate cuts. "Senators that are trying to direct the Fed on rate policy are really demeaning their role. McHenry's comments came one day before the U.S. central bank is widely expected to start cutting interest rates for the first time since 2020. Coming in the middle of a presidential election cycle, the change in Fed policy has stirred speculation as to whether the central bank would be influenced by political considerations.

In this article VOD-GB Follow your favorite stocks CREATE FREE ACCOUNTwatch nowBritain's competition watchdog on Friday said it found competition concerns with the proposed merger between Vodafone and the Three UK mobile network owned by CK Hutchison. The U.K. Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said the deal would lead to price increases for tens of millions of customers or see some users get reduced services. The regulator also warned of a negative impact for so-called Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs), which piggyback on existing infrastructure. The regulator said Friday the merger would result in higher prices or reduced services, and could "negatively affect those customers least able to afford mobile services." Vodafone said in a separate statement Friday that it disagrees with the findings that the merger would lead to price increases for consumers.

The winning formulaMore than 30 jurisdictions worldwide now recognize same-sex marriage, according to the Pew Research Center. Since the first same-sex marriage law was passed in the Netherlands in 2001, progress has been made mostly in Europe, the Americas and Australasia. Gay couples cut a wedding cake in Amsterdam on April 1, 2001 after the first same-sex marriage law was passed in the Netherlands. But on the national level, Japan does not recognize same-sex marriage and local courts have returned conflicting verdicts on the issue. Up to 68% of Japan’s adults support same-sex marriage, the highest share in Asia, according to the Pew Research Center.

New York CNN —Lawyers for Sam Bankman-Fried, the convicted former CEO of crypto exchange FTX, filed an appeal Friday, claiming he was denied a fair trial last fall and seeking new proceedings under a different judge. Bankman-Fried, 32, was sentenced to 25 years in prison after a jury convicted him on multiple federal counts of fraud and conspiracy in November. Two years after FTX collapsed in the midst of a cash crunch, Bankman-Fried is arguing that he didn’t get a fair shake in his trial. The court, they say, prohibited Bankman-Fried from introducing evidence of solvency for FTX and its sister firm, Alameda. Ellison pleaded guilty in cooperation with the government and became a star witness against Bankman-Fried during his trial.

Since Harris replaced President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee, Trump has constantly attempted to portray her as weak on immigration and crime. On Friday, Harris also chose not to mention mass deportation during a radio interview with Univision, when the host asked her to summarize her argument to undecided Hispanic voters. “There is a way in which those [crime and immigration] issues in particular are also about bigger things,” said Adrianne Shropshire, executive director of BlackPAC, a group working to mobilize Black voters for Harris and Democrats. And many of those voters might recoil from these Trump policies on crime and immigration if they heard more about them. “What he is hoping is that the Black voters who he is [courting] don’t see that stuff,” Shropshire said.
