CNN —After four unsuccessful years trying to identify the person who placed two viable pipe bombs near the Republican and Democratic National Committee headquarters, the FBI is hoping that allegiances have changed and someone is ready to talk. “Maybe allegiances have changed or relationships have changed and it’s time to report” on the suspect, Sundberg said. Another video shows previously unreleased footage with a new angle of the person placing a bomb under a bench near the DNC. Sundberg said “there’s no doubt” both bombs were viable and noted that the FBI has reviewed 39,000 video files and sifted through more than 600 tips. WASHINGTON — Federal investigators have increased the reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who left two pipe bombs near the Capitol the day before the Jan. 6, 2021, riot by fivefold, to $500,000, the FBI said Wednesday. The two pipe bombs found in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington. The individual wore black and light grey Nike Air Max Speed Turf shoes with a yellow logo. “We remain grateful to the American people, who have provided invaluable tips that have helped us advance the investigation,” Sundberg added. The unknown individual wore a face mask, glasses, gloves and a grey hooded sweatshirt and Nike Air Max Speed Turf shoes.
